Tried online for the first time....
The servers are all either PvP or RP. There's like..... no other way. Do people just not wanna play the normal game?

What do you mean? It was marketed as clan PvP from the get go so...

If you prefer PvE I highly recommend downloading the dedicated server app from Funcom and throwing it on a spare PC on your network. Anyone not playing vanilla PvP is playing solo or dedicated with mods because Conan mods have sent the game into extra diamond status, just like happened with Skyrim.

If you are going the dedicated route I also highly recommend revamping the server AI and connection settings using the INI tweaks guide over in the Guides section of Steam.

Also yes the game is indeed extremely RP'able and PvE in general is probably the preferred mode rn you're just not seeing all the numbers in-game or cross-platform. Same with Ark.

Have you check the actual official servers? Most are straight up PVE.
You can tailor your searches in the server select screen.

The choice is PVP or RP because multiplayer PVE isn't any good. The game isn't balanced for it, 2+ players working together will stomp everything unless they're newbies. Even if there was a highly populated PVE server near you, you'd probably end up playing solo. The ones who stay as a clan in PVE just end up building needlessly massive castles that bog down the server's performance because they've nothing else to do with combat offering no challenge.

PVP IS the normal game. That's how its supposed to be.

actually im pretty sure that Conan's PvP players are down to around 2% --- the other 98%are either solo or straight PvE.
yes when it came out it was how the game was made , but with all the cheaters and hackers people got tired of it and quit playing PvP.

No, they are not. There are plenty of PVE servers and PVE-C servers out there that are not RP servers, and RP servers can also be PVP servers...

Pvp or RP servers... What?... Even on RP server you can play just the way you want. If youre looking for PVE servers, there are plenty of them in official side and even more in unofficial side. I dont really see what the problem OP has is.

I have a question related to the opening poster, but a bit more specific,

the game got way too easy after their big 'update' some time ago (making skills increase a lot faster, etc),

and like the opening poster I have a preference for pve instead of pvp,

I'd like to play with other people too etc, so I'd like to have my own server for pve against the enemies in the game etc.

My question is this - you guys are mentioning the moddability of Conan and you can get your own private server etc that's moddable,

Does Conan have mods that DRASTICALLY increase the difficulty of the enemies? (Along with options to make leveling up slower and take a lot more effort?)

I'd like to make the game 'raw and hardcore' for really having to work to level up (like it was in the early days) but also make the enemies DRASTICALLY more difficult so when you actually be one you get a massive sense of satisfaction and actually progress in the zone.

No doubt the game would have to be modded for that and just wondering if that kind of mod was made already.
