Crash since last patch

Since the installation of the pacth the game no longer launches. I uninstalled, then reinstalled on a different disk .... Always the same. crashes without even launching, back to the Windows desktop direct. I'm on Windows 11

Having the same experience on Linux. I start the game which then skips the launcher menus and goes directly into game. As soon as the first video begins I get the crash message. Game continues until the final video starts then it closes to the report box.

what proton are do you use. got about 50 mods mine still works i use proton experimental. if you use mods it might be one of them causing that. did it happen before the hotfix. steam deck.

I'm using experimental, it worked before the last patch fine. I'll disable all mods, but that is all occuring before mods are loaded...

look on mods some have conflicts. some are on mod pages what they dont work with. mine was ivory honey i got fatal error with that. about two weeks ago. it sucks i had to go threw them all putting them in one by one till i found it.

Before this patch I have not had any crashes no matter how many hours I played. Now with the patch the game completely froze and locked up my pc as well after about half an hour playing.

I couldn´t even end the task via taskmanager. Had to restart my pc. No mods. Idk but to me it seems like something went wrong with that patch.

Before the patch, all worked fine. With no other changes, suddenly it will not run. It is my understanding that mods begin to load around the time that the cinematic video starts, my issue is with the launcher itself. And as no mods have been changed for me over the last few months, I cannot see how they are a factor. Am relaunching right now without any mods or DLC, to see if anything works differently. I may have to revert back to an earlier version of the game, that's likely for the best anyways. Back to when it was a challenging game maybe...

There is a difference though.

Mods tend to break when updates release so the moment you use mods you have to accept that things may break until the author of the mods updates their mods again. The moment you use mods you can´t report bugs to the developers of the game because you can never know if these issues may have been caused by said mods.

In my case it is the vanilla game without any mods at all and thus something must have gone wrong when it suddenly freezes my whole pc.

Yes, I am aware. And without anything, mine is performing the same. No launcher appears, goes right into loading the game, then crashes.
All DLC, All mods, removed entirely. All local files verified after. Crashes every time.

since patch: "can't find ....ConanSandbox.exe" Not able to even launch the game.
Again a patch fail :((((

The game is fine, most likely you have either an issue with your antivirus blocking battle-eye, which would cause a crash if you try to launch the game with battleye.. OR same thing but the windows 11 core isolation features (you need to have that off for BE to work)

talked to a guy a few months ago his game crashed at the movie. proton exp did not work for him. he used proton 9.0-4 it worked for steam deck. siptah dont work for me loading bar get,s to half then c.t.d. hope you get it working

I was using 9.0-4 for the same reason. Proton exp was not working. I had tried all the different versions to no luck. Just deleted the launcher folder and redownloaded in case it was corrupted. First go it's started but not progressing to any films, so I'll try a different proton. Thanks for the thought, I'll keep at it.

all good. do have proton trick,s flatseal. check if you do have that. you get update,s with those on desktop mode. i had the game crashing because i did not update them for a while. proton 8.0-5 work,s as well.post from reddit 2024

So apparently all I had to do to fix this crashing/freezing problem midgame was to verify the local files of the game. Haven´t had any crashes or freezes after doing that and I played for many hours yesterday. Might have just been some faulty files from the patch download who knows.

to check if movies are still there.../steam/steam/steamapps/common/conan exiles/conansandbox/content/movies/ your path might be the same as this.check if movies are still on it. ue4 navidia conan intro movie.maybe 8 or 10 loading screen,s will be on it.
