All the PC game purchases run through Steam use the wallet.
I had this problem and it turns out, my NVidia card has some related software ... an overlay of its own... that kicks-in when I play the game. (It gives options like recording video.) I didn't think much of it, until I tried shutting it down (I could see it as an icon in my System Tray). THEN I was able to launch the game and actually see Steam's overlay say something on the screen. And I then was able to make a purchase.
Later on, I just let that Nvidia software restart itself with the next reboot of my PC. I figured I'd just remember to shut it down next time, if I ever wanted to buy something from within the game again.
So, you might want to see if you have any other software "overlays" for gaming running... that could be interfering.
Thanks for the tip. I did disable the NVidia application. I'll look for other things I guess.
very frustrating, especially since nothing changed on my end since i bought Crom coins before.
did remove the nvideo overlay and even started the game with big picture steam mode, that somebody has luck with
i just want to get a battle pass so i can unlock my 1-60 items
you will see when steam finally gets it fixed, that there are new battle pass items
and i lose all i have unlocked
You would need to close the game, remove it, and then open the game again. Shift+Tab will now open the steam overlay as normal. This is how you can test it. (Or at least that was the giveaway to me while the game was loading).
If you don't know what ReShade is, you likely don't have it and this won't be the cause for you. ReShade is kind of like a mod, but not quite, it changes how the games atmosphere looks by changing lighting and shadows. It's not installed to the Mods or plugins folder like other mods, you would find it in directory ..\Steam\steamapps\common\Conan Exiles\ConanSandbox\Binaries\Win64.
The website incase you need it.
https://reshade.me/
Your a life saver my friend, it worked like a charm.
What i did was first looking in the folder you where mentioning, if i had the reshade file's, witch i couldent find in it, or so i thought, i must have overlooked them.
So i thought i will just download it and install it, then when i run the file, it asked me to choose a direct x version or vulcan driver whatever that is , so i just acepted teh directx 12 witch was alreday highlighted, then i got a option to install it and upgrade was alreday highlighted, so i clicked upgrade and it installled it, i checked teh folder and reshade was now updated, then i started teh game and i could indeed buy my Crom Coins :P
but as i said i didnt see reshade installed in teh folder you told me to look in, so i dont know if clicking teh upgrade button, would install it fresh, maybey you can tell me if i did not have reshade installed would clicking upgrade have worked ?? just curiouse
also dont have any idee if i should have chosen Vulcan
anyway thx man your a live saver
also gave you 3 small awards you earned them cheers
I see that your recent in-game purchase for Conan Exiles was successful.

Steam Support cannot help you if the transaction was completed and you did not receive the Crom Coins. You need to fill out a Help Center ticket.

I had to remove the files OPENGL32.DLL, OPENGL32.ini, and OPENGL32.log from '..\Steam\steamapps\common\Conan Exiles\ConanSandbox\Binaries\Win64'
But my ReShade was quite an old version. 3.0.8 I think.
For the newer one, currently 5.0.9, you'd have to remove dxgi.dll, ReShade.ini, ReShade.log, ReShadePreset.ini and the folder named 'reshade-shaders' and all of its contents from the same directory.
It looks like the latest version of ReShade doesn't work on BattlEye servers.
BattlEye is a anticheat program that runs alongside your Conan Exiles client, many servers require it to be running to join. It seems BattlEye hasn't whitelisted the latest version of ReShade's dxgi.dll and won't launch with it installed. I was just testing this myself. I'm sure it will be whitelisted soon. For now, use an earlier version of ReShade I guess.
Conan Exiles uses Direct X 11. So when reinstalling ReShade, select option 'Direct X 10/11/12'
Conan Exiles does not use Vulkan as far as I know. The option exists because ReShade is not specific to Conan Exiles. It can be installed and work with many games, some of which do use Vulkan. Valheim I know has Vulkan as an option.
I hope this is helpful to somebody.
Out.
