Cold-resistant armor?

Is there some cold-resistant armor that's not terribly hard to obtain and build at mid-tier? Something rather accessible?

My friend just ran across that bridge in the north wearing the Heavy Vanir stuff and he did apparently start taking damage at the worst part of it, apparently.

Better armorers will help make better temperature resistance. Most areas in the snow do not require special cold resistance. Take spicy food and a torch and you will be fine everywhere but the Frost Temple and the Bridge of the Betrayer and the nearby areas of that lake.

You can safely cross the Bridge of the Betrayer on horse if you start to gallop when you start getting cold. Attune the obelisk on the north side and you can port across the bridge the next time.

However, the bridge there is literally the coldest spot in the game, same as the coldest part of the temple of frost so don't be surprised :P you need at least 30+ temperature resistance to not be damaged by that one.

Holding a torch and spicy food help ofc :)

That is not the case, temperature resistance is fixed and isn't influenced in any way by thralls

Doesn't the fact that the food only lasts one minute (according to what I've read) become a huge pain, though? Having to remember to click/eat once every minute?

One minute is plenty to get past the colder spots. Just don't stop to read the historical marker in the middle of the bridge with out special end game temperature gear.

It's pretty managable, you'll instantly notice when you need it :D and a stack still goes a long way since you're not going to be idling around in the absolute coldspots for too long.
The pirate ones are really nice, if you can get your hands on some rare spice and the skill to craft

(you can always try to farm the Dragonscale helm from Red Mother which will pretty much solve most your temperature needs in one item)

baiscally there is the 1 OP armor for temperature resistance, the redeemed legion heavy armor, craftable with a T4 armorsmith and the knowledge of lost legion. It has an air-condition as it seems.

There are shields against cold and heat, a helmet which you can get in the nameless city against cold, as said meals and teas/alcohol, against heat you can eat ice, absynth which you can get from the frost giants is very good against cold, if you need water eat berries, as water cools you also down, but in the end the almighty redeemed legion seems THE OP solution... ????

Torch or one of the shields with cold resists. Firewater and spiced meat for when you need to climb somewhere. If you need to stop somewhere that allows building, setup some bonfires.

frost giants drop a ton of spicy food for some reason,farm them for a few mins,thats be all the spicy food you need for the game,and dont forget to use torch
