No, I understand you just fine.
You don't understand me.
Stop. Play on a different server. The situation no longer affects you.
That server is not unique. This game is not unique for having servers like that. You need to let it go.
the point was never about playing on a different server ..... LOL the point is this guy is doing stuff thats probably legally actionable.
i think based off your defence your probably doing the same thing
My point is that it's not uncommon for private server based games. The subscription stuff gives the server owner a financial incentive to make a solid server. After all, they can't get subscriptions if no one wants to play on it.
Do you know what is going to happen in reality? If Funcom does anything at all, they will just email the server admin to tell them they can't use mods for subscription benefits. Server admin will adjust how they describe their subscription plan in public channels.
No one is getting sued. The subscription plans aren't going to actually change much, outside of the words being used to sell them.
After all, the Admin can't "sell" modded items, but it's legal to "give" modded items to subscribers.
If you whine about "subscriber" then they switch to "Donation".
That's why he should just switch to a different server. It's a waste of everyones time and energy.
Life is too short to worry about a server admin who may or may not be 'stretching' the rules.
It's common place to have such systems on private servers to encourage players donating money. If you don't like it, change the server, go play on officials, no admin abuse there.
if they are free mods then why not download those mods and use them?
its their server and if they want to lock achievements behind certain requirements they have that right, they are paying for the server not you?
possible solution...pay for your own server and do it the way you want or play solo with the mods your suffering FOMO from.
its really that easy.
