As a diversion for me, I run the last version just before the Age of Sorcery was released.
Mind you, the "legacy" versions still have their bugs that were never fixed. Also, there are some drawbacks concerning vault exploration on the Isle of Siptah. (namely, the end bosses are not showing up which means most (if not all) exit routes are still closed off and you'll have to backtrack, if possible).
One more thing, unless you know how to set up a server to run a legacy version you'll be stuck playing it in solo mode with coop as an option.
If you wish to explore this further, go to the official forums and look up instructions regarding how to do it. If nothing else, ask and I'm sure someone can point you to the right topic.

As far as a Funcom-supported way of doing so, I doubt we'll see that come about for various reasons, so the above method is likely how it'll have to be.
There also won't be much in the way of mods to choose from unless you happen to have old manual copies. Luckily for me I saved all mine.
This 100 times this! I miss the survival aspects of the older version.
