Are two hand weapons even worth it in PVE ?
I have the feeling two hand weapons are worthless in PVE. They take so much stamina, they are not even worth it.

I generally carry both 1hd and 2hd weapons. Axe and shield for most lower level foes, specially if archers might be involved, and a 2hd weapon for rocknoses, bosses and other heavily armored foes--Baal-pteor's Lodestone or Razor if available to save weight, or dragonbone maul or other 2hd mace to sunder bosses.

One handed weapons don't really have the crowd clearing capability of the two handed when you get mobbed.

Best thing for me to use is Axe/Throwing Axe on staggerable mobs, it stunlocks them quite nicely and Axe has an insane amount of damage.

Otherwise Mace/Throwing Axe, stunlocks too and has Sunder for enemies that have any armour at all since Axe sucks vs armour, 0% armour pen on most if not all axes.

Hammer is amazing for clustered mobs like in Sepermiru, the light attack swings just hit everyone around you and does more damage than god. Heavy attacks suck on Hammer, might as well just use a Mace

Greatsword, sucks to the point of choking.

Sword is meh, fun to play with a shield. It has too many dashes and dashes are impractical for PvE, otherwise Sword/Throwing Axe is a less powerful version of mace or axe main hands.

Javelins, need to be removed, garbage.

Spears are awful for PvE. Their damage is too low for the range tradeoff, mobs that can't be staggered are annoying to deal with, and mobs that can be staggered often get knocked back out of your reach so you can't actually hit them.

Maces are insane on Thralls and spear is fairly popular for pve on players..

It has nothing to do so much with range as it does to stack bleeds and stagger lock with sundering thrall.

They are somewhat useful, since swapping from a bow to melee can be done in one key press (they never coded auto-equip on shields)

Plus they handle aoe a bit better than most one-handed weapons

2H-Sword has a combo, if you do a heavy-light-heavy attack, you do a 360 that hits everything around you.

I love the shortsword, too bad it stops at iron level (20 damages), a heavy allows you to make a series of 5 short attacks on light.

Pikes are woth it.

I just use whatever I want and rely on my relic hunter treasure seeker to just murder everything in sight without me having to worry much about what I'm doing. My preference is a 1H Axe and shield.

How do you use the shield? Do you keep it always raised or you raise it against an incoming attack?

2H mace is a beast once you learn the combos and know how to manage stamina and rolling. Once crippled, even light opponents will have a hard time out-maneuvering you.
