Ranch water

Trying to farm, do I need a herbalist at the bench to acquire ranch water? If not, how do I acquire? Thanks in advance

Put a bucket into bench too.

having a bucket isn't enough, need to make ranch water. Do you know how? Water icon doesn't show, do I have to have an herbalist thrall?

First of all which mod, there is a bucket from AoC and a bucket from Emberlight. Both buckets can be filled at a water source (just like a waterskin). The Emberlight bucket can generate water over time if you put it in the herbalist bench and you have a herbalist thrall.

Both mods are installed. Since the herbal bench is Emberlight, I take it that it's dominant. I'll have to check bucket to see if it has filled. Shouldn't I have a ranch water icon in bench? Is the thrall needed here?

They both work correctly but you need to use the correct bucket for each planter. AoC requires the AoC bucket to stay in the AoC planter (I think it was crafted in the woodwork bench). Emberlight planters need water from the Emberlight bucket. The Emberlight bucket in the Herbalist bench will generate water slowly if you have a thrall in the bench, but the water will look like blue ichor when generated. Leave the bucket and come back in 30 min you should have some. Alternatively put the Emberlight bucket on your hotbar and fill it up manually then drop the bucket in the planter, the water will show up and you can take the empty bucket to refill it.

Finally, got it. Took bucket to well & river. Filled it, took back to bench. ranch water icon then showed in inventory. I need a bucket for each planter along with water icon. So no thrall is needed. Thanks

Fill bucket like a flask. Bucket in hotbar, go to water source, hit the E key to fill. Now go back to bench, stove, or planter and place bucket in inventory. The water icon will auto. appear in inventory along with the bucket. Thanks Narelle
