Crafting Thrall Update is Broken, Bad - Very Disappointed
We appear to have some thralls, but they do not seem recognized, as the menu says, "Capture a thrall with relevant profession..."
There is no box to place thrall in menu.
Players should not lose valuable assets because of an update.
Also, there is a static thrall at the station, no animation.

Edit: on rollout pre-existing thralls were not placed on their benches, for some reason, which made things look worse. There was no notice that they had to be placed like normal thralls--and then set on bench.

Barkeeps are gone, but they are plentiful.
Also found that you can exclude workers from you bed!

It took a long time to gather tier 4 crafting thralls. It would be an unacceptable loss.

We had to relaunch the game to get things into place. On relaunching we saw the thrall inside the workbench and were able to place it in the world like an object.

After that they were auto assigned to all the benches they could work on, so our armour thrall now works on all benches related to armour. They do not stand at the bench like before but wander around doing random things but the bench works as if they are standing at it.

Yeah it is wonky. All of the thralls I had at crafting benches here shown still working at that station/bench but they had their icon in the bench itself. You just had to pick them up, put on hotbar and place them in the world. Of course the animation would show them still working at that bench they were on pre patch.

I had to deconstruct each bench and rebuild them for the crafter working animation to go away.

I just put out the crafters into the world and relogged, that set it all up good

I've got through this and put them at their benches in the working animation position and they stand there doing nothing. Once one of them went for a meal. It's a sh*t show, leave these ideas to the modders, they at least know the game mechanics

It's completely garbage TBH.

I have multiple different thralls of the same profession, collected over MANY hundreds of hours, yet only ONE is auto assigned to a station. (and the one cook who was auto-assigned to my 3 cooking stations, is apparently the only one who can also double as an Alchemist at the Cauldron, WHILE STILL COOKING)

Apparently Daya Leaddrinker is the ONLY smelter in Conan Exiles, and she can apparently run ALL 6 of my forges at the same time, even though she is sitting on the other side of my base, drinking in my tavern.

There are 8 doors in total between the "dormitory" that I purpose built for my thralls (with tables, chairs, fountains and camp fires and a proper bed for each and every one of them - just as the blog post suggested) Yet my thralls can magically pass through doors (when they aren't getting stuck on them) and I have 5 of the sleeping in MY bed.

It's a total s**t show,

This is the sum synopsis of this update.
Way too late tbh, and doesn't mesh with how we've used them for YEARS.
It's almost as if... they dream up these things... by themselves inside of a vacuum chamber.:steamfacepalm:

these are all problems i've had just in the last 20 min, as i tried to introduce myself to the new crafting thrall system. 1-i place a thrall in the world, assign it to the nearby bench, and the bench starts using the bonuses of a different thrall. 2-i place a thrall in the world, assign it to the nearby bench, and the thrall walks away to another nearby bench. 3- some benches aren't showing thrall choices even though there are other qualified thralls at nearby benches or simply standing nearby. 4- some clusters of benches - such as campfire, fermentation barrel, and stove and also master armor bench, improved armor bench, and tinker bench - are showing the same thrall assigned to all 3 even though there are other thralls assigned to the other 2 benches. 5- thralls don't just walk away when they take a break; some are simply gone, not in the world for a few min, and therefore can't be reassigned.
TBH it's a bad start, but i know this is a new thing and i want to give it a chance. i've stopped playing for now because i was about to rage quit and will try again later. i'd REALLY like if there was a toggle to turn my benches/thralls OFF the new system so i could use them as they were before the expansion

I found that most of the thralls we had (so far) can be placed, on the ground, and at the bench. I wish there would have been more information on the process. I watched and read everything, but nowhere did Funcom state the process for preexisting thralls. Also, if there were only one thrall on a bench, surely could have been placed.

I seem to have lost one T4 carpenter because the bench was full, making arrows.
Also, I can't seem to place a second cook, though likely will will be getting rid of a lot of thalls.

No barkeep to be found.
The thralls seem lazy and apt to be elsewhere. : )

We were about 109 total followers before for 9 bases. I worry, and the powers that be have taken the counter away from us.

It's a neat system, but the teething is a bit rough.

Barkeeps are gone for good if they were actually at the bar or out in the world (probably because their "station" doesn't have an actual inventory, so 'poofff', they just vanish).

Apparently NotFuncom knows about it, and once again it's a "whoopsies" and them just shrugging and saying "That sounds like a YOU problem, so you'll just have to suck it up, and go out and get more"
Mine was setting on a bench because I took my bar out a few days ago, still went poof.

I'm glad I havent logged in yet.
Guess I'll be keeping my Crafting Thralls in storage for awhile.

Honestly I might be done with CE after this Update.

Try disabling any mods and see if that resolves the issues. Had a few problems myself and found Unlock Plus was stopping me accessing the interface to select a thrall to craft with.

If you have multiple different types of T4 thralls placed, you can choose what bonus to apply when starting crafting. But it only counts the thralls that are actually placed.

So far Ive been positively surprised by the update. Although the sounds of steps and opening doors is somewhat spooky..

Theres even a choice to set an interactable "off-limits" to the living thralls. Thats a great addition. Now I can set my bed and my throne so that thralls dont use them.

ps. The journey step not working is a bug yeah,.. We can only hope it gets fixed quick.

Hello folks,
My worker thralls all get the "returning home" status and then die. They are nowhere to be seen, and when I check on them in the list of followers, I see that they take 1 poison damage per second for no reason. If I try to use "rescue thrall" from the menu , I am told they have been attacked and cannot be saved before 9 minutes cooldown. I can guarantee you that no one is attacking them. They end up dying. When I check the log in the settings, it does not say that the thralls have died or have been booted (broken bound) yet they are gone from the list and the game. 100% bug. I have seen the life gauge of one of them go from 100% (about 1000 health) to 0 in 1 second when I was looking at their stats in the followers menu. I tried to use "rescue thrall" and i got the message: thrall cannot be found. After that, they were gone. RIP my ONLY bladesmith and a bunch of other High profile Tier 4 workers... I will restore a saved game from before I started playing the age of heroes but I have wasted a good number of hours on it already. Not playing again until it's fixed. I don't use any mod by the way.
Going to bed now, have a good one.
