So treehouses, how do Purge get to them?
I got the DLC with the Treehouse sruff and was wondering if I build it way up a giant tree in the Jungle then would it be Purge proof? Or would the Purge just spawn on top or inside of it?

If the purge npc's can't find a land route to some part of your base, which usually means a foundation, they'll spawn inside it. A cheap move which completely defeats the purpose of building in a 'safe' location on a PvE server. Due to that annoying mechanic, places to build are artificially severely restricted if purge is turned on. I wish they'd given the npc's the ability to swim or climb or just attack from range instead. So many places I'd like to build but prevented from doing so by the purge - the only other option, if purge is turned on, is to put some 'honey pot' foundations at ground level for the purge npc's to latch onto. Completely ruins the aesthetics of your base and you might even have to link them to the main part of your base with other foundations. It's a ridiculous thing to have to do.

Ok thanks, I will build a treehouse base with valuable stuff kept inside and then a big temple looking base on the ground to take the Purge damage.

Just build a small guard station wherever your elevator touches the ground. Doesn't need to be anything big or obnoxious, just enough to house 4 thralls and a chest of supplies. If things go badly, pull your elevator up and wait it out.

You can dircet the purge a bit. If you have a base without direcet contact to land and the AI path cant reach your base you can place some foundations on ground and simulate a base on ground. The Purge AI try to spawn near a foundation that is connected with the ground and a path to it is given.

For example if you have a base and place some foundations around it with some spacing between your base and the foundations than the purge focus your foundations outside of your base and mostly wont spawn inside of it.

BUT the purge try to focus something from you, like your bed or workbenches or chests, if this happen they can spawn inside of your base. If you have a chance build a direct path to this, open doors before the 2 minutes countdown is over than you have a good chance that they dont spawn inside of your base.
