GRR Legbiter?
I captured and trained GRR Legbiter a while back, and it took me a while before I figured out that he was a Shield-write, I didn't know what that was exactly so I didn't place him for a long time.

Well, I found that he could man a Armors bench, so I placed him. While messing around with him discovered that he would follow me if commanded. I thought that once placed they could be moved but I didn't know that they would follow you like a regular thrall.

I haven't tried with others yet.

But I decided to have him follow me and see if he would level. I took only a short time to get him to level 7, so I made a completed set of custom heavy armor and hardened steel weapon and shield.

Now I've got him up to level 11, and he is really tough, he's taking down things that take me 4 to 6 hits with one or two hits.

I should have checked but do all thralls now do combat even armorers and other's that were just placed on a bench?

Anyway this was a surprise to me, and I wondered if others had found this to happen?

PS,

I had no idea that all thralls can be used as fighters now, but it's true, even the lower ranked ones.
But the real news to me was that the named ones are really tough characters.

All crafting thralls will follow you and fight. The low level crafters from low level factions have very few hp and are not worth the time to level. Grrr like most T4 crafters has a 1.6 hidden melee modifier, the same as Lianeel. His problem is that as a Dafari he starts with only 645 hp and as a shieldwright is the most valuable type of thrall so his loss would be great. If you want a shieldwright that is really tough get the Werk of the Lost Tribe. He has as much HP as a Berserker, and hits 70% as hard.

Note that barkeepers can follow and fight, but they never gain stats and as they will admit are useless in a fight.

We noticed even if equipped with a weapon, they won't use them .. instead fighting with their bare hands.

Who is "they"? Regular crafters use weapons just fine.

Yes the one I'm using seems to be better than most of my others. When equipped with Hardened Steel ax he mows them down and he's only up to level 11 so far.

He's health is up over 1,000 already seem be the time I get him to level 20 he will be as high as any other of my Named T4s.
