Making it first person only is detrimental, I've no issue with more first person support, but I think making it exclusive would be a step backward.
Better thralls, more advanced functions and township mechanics all sound good, it would be nice if they could actually do things like gather and store materials, go on patrols and had a real routine to make them feel more interactive.
The building stuff could use some tweaks for sure, I like the idea of grid building, placing 5x5 foundations at once, providing you have the mats, not sure about splitting the walls and whatnot into different categories though, the menu is very cluttered already.
Can't say I've ever found the UI lacking but more customisation is always better.
Prefabs are a nice idea, could certainly fit with the current building system, or a halfway system for placing a blueprint that is then completed by the player could also work.
Yes, as far as First person goes I feel it makes the game much more immersive, creates a new element of stealth and sneaking tactics of frontal view points and peeking but even if they had 1st person servers and 3rd person could solve that, maybe hardcore servers that are 1st person only... i think if the game was designed from that view point it would sell much better for 1st person games sell. 3rd are hit or miss. people like suspense and 1st person delivers.
Additionally, how would we be able to see our own armor/cosmetics if there was no third person? And, nada, inventory screen is not an option for that.
Ya! i was thinking maybe an rp mode you can activate out of combat that is walk speed? something like that.
They could revolutionize the genre by making thralls into a deep mechanic.
They really just need a face lift. Only due to the "realistic" approach to graphics, Games like Valheim are popular despite looking way worse. Enshouded which is the "new thing" also looks so cartoony.
Conan can be like some of these long lasting MMO's id the management where good enough.
Game already features a toggle for nudity, a plethora of diverse races for people to choose from, and some of the models and faces are down right hideous too, specially if you go full corruption.
Jokes aside though I don't think "woke" Conan could even work as a concept, it's too entrenched in its own lore, real world history and his own prejudices both influenced Howard when writing it.
Also, remove seeing the hands while running or using, carrying tools/weapons. That alone shows the camera being out of position. (roughly high abdomen or lower chest).
It seriously needs an overhaul.
Sure, I would too however if we also want to talk about what the game should really be to not just survive but THRIVE! i think expanding on AI and thrall system is the most important thing to focus on.
*Require housing for thralls makes the base you build expansive.
*have thralls use doors to promote their own living areas and it makes the base immersive and alive
*have thralls farm
*have thralls craft
*have thralls build preset projects you fabricate.
*have thralls explore and scout the map
*allow to set your thralls to hunt other player clans and send pre-set armys on the march
*Have thralls the way you siege an enemy base by occupying trebs, rams, ladders..
*design the game to be more grand in battle size, incorporate thralls in a much larger way to match the grand bases being built.
* I would add *Buildings* to the game that are like their own work benches but also function as specific things like a "Barracks" - that you can recruit troops from "Arena" that you can do events and challenges in both pvp and pve for rewards and "Capital" building that is the main capture point of a base. this would make it so bases being "Jank" will be greatly reduced because you give them natural focal points required in a base.
