Based on what you stated the specs are, if the game even loads, I would aim for 720p and not 900p. Turn down the overall gfx settings to low but tweak the individual gfx settings to your liking and the computer's capability.
Finally, you could just purchase the base game (Steam Summer Sale: $9.99), install it and see if it works. Steam allows for refunds within 14 days of purchase and as long as you played less than 2 hours. So maybe buy it, install it and see if you computer can handle it. If it doesn't, just refund it (again, within 14 days and under 2 hours of playtime). Think of it like a paid demo.
