How do I manually whitelist players?
I was wondering how to manually whitelist players, as there seems to be no easy way. My admin panel is bugged and wont let me add myself to the whitelist, and running the whitelistplayer command adds an "Unknown" whitelisted player and still presents the issue of locking me out, until I disable whitelisting again.

I found the whitelist file by searching through the log, and it is still empty despite the command being run. I tried manually adding my ID, but have no clue as to the format or what ID it really is; I think it is either my Steam ID or the random number string it is returning in the log on my server window.

I am using the official dedicated server, the one from the site, as I found the steam one is no longer being updated due to critical bugs present and people saying so.

I use in my local network for tests the SteamCMD one, and it works fine.
As much as I have used the GPortal one, but I dont anymore. That one indeed I see many people saying it is not to be used.

When I used GPortal Servers, I still used the FTP and the game commands to handle most server stuff, because GPortal interface is terrible.
I would wager most problems Official and GPortal clients have is from GPortal "stuff", and hosting elsewhere often is better.

About the problem with adding players, it might be that either the player, or you, must know the player's FuncomID.

It probably show at the mid bottom of the screen on top of the version and other client data when you put up the main menu (ctrl M or esc).

Wait, so it is trying to use the Funcom ID and not the Steam ID?! that would explain the random string ID the log is showing as me trying to connect... will try and experiment with it. Thank you so much for the quick reply.

I tried using my Funcom ID in the console command to add a player to whitelist, and still got the same result as before, with a "Unknown" player added to whitelist. Was unable to join with the unknown added to the list, and changed the file to have my ID and username, as it was in a "12345:Unknown" format, but I still was unable to join. Will try at it some more after I get some rest.
Idk, that was what I did to add both in a GPortal and local server my other accounts.

Do you recall the commands you used? Is their other ones I should be trying? Found so few lists of commands that actually help, and only found the whitelist player one in a very old thread from 2016 or so

whitelistplayer or something like that. That I used on my local server.
For the GPortal I simply uploaded the whitelist.txt.
The numbers there are the steamid64, which is the ID shown in the account info on the app (windows or android) the person can see. While sharing that id is not a problem. only the person can see it that way.
I suppose the funcom service does know that id and put it in the file.

I managed to finally get the whitelisting working. I used the Whitelistplayer command with my SteamID64(Dec) number, found with SteamIDFinder and finally saw my username and funcom ID show up in the whitelisted players in the admin panel. Thank you for all the help, and hopefully this might help others struggling in the future.

Specifically, the command was
WhitelistPlayer NUMBER
