Please Help! UE4 Sandbox, fatal error at start-up
Alright, so I got this game yesterday evening. Clean install, no mods whatsoever.
But it won't start... I've followed a few guides on Youtube. Made an exception for Windows Defender and a ♥♥♥♥ load of other stuff, but I can't get the damn game to work.

What am I missing or doing wrong?

Again, no mods installed of any kind and it was a clean install.
Which I did 3 times now... Please help?

Does it give any specific error? What Windows version are you running and what is your PC spec.

Also if you look in the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Conan Exiles\ConanSandbox\Saved\Logs" you should find some log files. The are just text files and might contain more info.

May be worth posting in the Funcom official tech support folders "https://forums.funcom.com/c/conan-exiles/5" someone on the Funcom side might have a better idea.

In the ConanSandbox/saved folder you have logs, there is a Conansandbox.log or something like that, without a date, right after your game crash. For the purposes of knowing what is happening, the full content of the file is not important, but the end of the file will have the reason why it crashes. Important to note that file must be "checked" right after it crashes.

All the information to formulate a theory is there in the final lines, from "Script Stack" onwards.

But with the little information, and if I had to guess, it is about the 3rd part Runtimes Conan Exiles use the way you refer to the error in your OP.

I have the following setup:

I run a Samsung curved monitor through the display port output of my GPU.

I am running Windows 11.

The exact message is: The UE4-ConanSandbox Game has crashed and will close. With a sub-message saying: Fatal error!

This is all I get from the error itself.
You cannot get anything from that. The "error message" is in a log, and might be something like this:

That log does not correspond to a crash.
You need to get the one that is there right AFTER the game crashes.

Game crashed logs will have this line:

Well, I will try to put one here again, once the game is finished re-installing... again. xD
you might have older ones which are logs that have a date. One of those might have that data.

Ok, now I understand the problem, but at the end it might change if the game crashes.
