Bench Inventory issues
so with the recent update (maybe it was the last, im not certain, i cant remember anymore with all the weird issues that arise with each update, benches SOMETIMES allow you to use/get info from the items inside them. they used to work flawlessly, ie you right click on something inside it and it either split, asked you to split, was used up or was transfered to your inventory based on the special key used (alt, shift etc)
can we get this back please?
not being able to repair tools /access items inside benches is dumb as sh*t FC. If this isn't a bug and an actual feature someone suggested or came up with. Fire em. Hire wak instead, he has great ideas.

oh and i assume ya'll (FC) decided to change things around to accomodate and help out the lesser race that play on consoles..... Stop it. PC Master Race

This is definitely a bug, because dragging an item to a new slot in the bench will actually refresh the UI and allow you to once again repair the item.
If that is the "idea" of good idea, I guess I will stick with FC devs.
Things are way simpler and working now that the main problems with flip flop shortcuts were solved.

Idk what people are wanting more about it. Sorting is still not ideal, but it is a way to do it.
If you think that is a problem, that sure is not the game's problem.

naw, im not talkin about splitting stacks, im talkin about actually using the item.... say you wanted to eat the food that you had in the bench. you cant, cause...why? you have to move it to your own inventory to eat it. say you want to repair the item inside the bench. you cant, cause...why? you have to move it to your own inventory, move the materials to yer own inventory and then repair....thats bs.

Maybe they'll have it fixed in a few years.

That is not BS. That is building a game that has implications design for people not to "dream game" in other situations. I can totally understand the requirement of you using items in your own inventory. For one, it is very interesting to think you can just run around "light as a feather" and when PvP or combat situation comes, you are both agile to fight and unburdened by having to literally "pull your own weight".

However, on the other hand, I have used food from the Wheel of Pain, just a few hours back when I was playing. And I often eat food straight from the campfire, havent seen a change. So part of your argument is not "strictly speaking" true.

Mods maybe ? Who knows.

What's with all the quotations? This isn't a Zagat's guide.

Clicking use on an item in a thralls inventory has always caused the thrall to use that item wether it be healing potions or food

i figured it out.
if the item is moved into the bench by modifier clicking it vs actually dragging and dropping the item, the repair feature and other buttons do not appear. If after dragging and dropping said item and you click off of it, you once again can no longer interact with the item as before

I know there is A problem, not a bug, about how now things work regarding stations and storages. They added specialized storages, like for example mining, or foraging. With that update, they also changed specialized crafting stations to work only for a given type of thing.

Now for example you cannot put "anything" in the dismantling bench, only things that can be dismantled.

But as pointed out, using things in thrall's inventory was always used by that thrall. I have a mod I created in 2020, and it was based on exact that function, if you used it on your inventory it affected you, if in a thrall's, them. Potions, food, warpaints, they do and always did affected the character that owns that inventory.

Now and in the video there, I have shuffled, split, used, things in those inventories normally.

What I observed is that sometimes when you are using vanity mode it sometimes get stuck into not allowing you to click anything, but that problem has nothing to do with the storage or the inventory, it has to do with control flow. Once you simply close and open the interaction again, it works fine.
