Can't ride rhino's or camels with Isle of Siptah?

So far I've caught 3 rhinos. NONE of them have a saddle slot. Ditto for camel. I'm assuming this is a bug, if not then why can't I ride them? If it is a bug, why has it not been fixed.

With Rhinos, you have to unlock the first saddle feat, then go into your inventory and scroll down in the crafting window until you see the three rhino mount recipes - war torn, savage and purebred.

So you can't ride the ones you catch in the wild? That's really dumb.

Not only dumb but really not intuitive for the player.

Thx for the reply because I sure would have been riding around catching a bunch of useless rhinos for a few hours.

You need to catch them in the wild, then tame them, then place them in your inventory in order to turn them into mounts. It's a way of differentiating between rhinos who have pet stats, and Rhinos who have mount stats.

You absolutely can ride a basic rhino you find normally after you raise it to adulthood and place it down. You do not need to make the wartorn or any of the other unique rhinos. And I'm pretty sure you don't need any feats unlocked to see the saddle slot. However it must be a basic rhino to have a saddle slot. If it comes out as a white rhino, black rhino or greater rhino you can't ride it. You may have just gotten a rare roll three times in a row and not have gotten any basic rhinos. But you absolutely can ride the normal rhino I have done it personally.

That's exactly my experience with it as well, and I jumped on a server to train a rhino just to verify that they have not changed the system, it's been a while since I've used a rhino mount. I'll come back in a bit and post when it's done cooking.

Edit: Tested - works just like a horse as long as you get a regular rhino. Grab baby rhino, put it in animal pen with food, wait. Once it grows to an adult place it in the world, slap a rhino saddle on it and you've got yourself a rhino mount.

I've just tested it and it does work - which is weird because I'm sure when I first started playing Siptah on release, it wouldn't let me use a regular rhino, I had to use the recipes because the slot wouldn't appear for me, either. Ah well. Sorry for causing confusion. You could still try the crafting recipes if the slot won't show up and see if it works.

No worries - they keep changing things so it's hard to be 100% sure of something unless you did it very recently. Appreciate you testing it out.

Ok so I have a Siptah Rhino and a Tuskbeast at the base I'm at now. Put them both in the animal pen after I caught them, fed them highland berries and when they were done I put them in my inventory, dropped them at my base, and neither one has a saddle slot. Are they both rare?

My other base I have a huge Rhino which I guess must be rare, so that one is definitely unable to be ridden I guess.

I kind of liked how they did it in Ark (if I remember correctly). If you could make a saddle for a dino, it could be ridden. This is just too much confusion.

The Tuskbeast and Siptah Rhino are not rideable. You need a regular, just plain "rhino." The basic baby rhinos are a little hard to find on Siptah.

LOL so I got three rare drops in a row. Lucky me I guess. Seems like to me it should be the other way around...if you're going to have any rideable mounts they should be the rare ones.

Definitely lots of nonsense in Conan Exiles, this is not the worst of it.

If using mods, Blackthorn Pets and Mounts is a good one. You can turn loads of animals into mounts - panthers, sandbeasts, hyenas, aardwolves, wolves, Kudos... Good mod to have if you're frustrated with the mount situation.
