[Solved] Pak file Corruption

So a bit back i had a pak file corruption that would keep happening. i solved the issue thanks to someone who posted on the original message. the post was deleted by a moderator for unknown reasons.

I am posting this here so that others who have the issue know how to fix it.

Issue #1 if PAK file is corrupted.

fix #1 it can be fixed by verifying files in properties of the game.
Steam > Library > Conan Exiles > Properties > Verify file integrity.

however if it continues to get corrupted. then it is the redistribution package C++.

The package will need to be uninstalled and a new one acquired from Microsoft.

The package in question should be. " Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable (x86/x64)
x64 being 64bit OS and x86 being 32bit OS. please make sure you get the right one.

i hope this is helpful to save players from the stress and annoyance of having your game constantly crash every 30s.

Update : Solved my issue but it was more of an issue with my microsoft. my system was on auto paging of RAM and was telling it to use more then i had. it was auto paging 16.5gb when i have 15.9 [2x 8gb] causing the game to crash while playing. this lead to corrupted PAK file errors and the crashing. it has been fixed by manual paging.

So i failed to fix mine. it crashed and gave me pak corruption again. 3 days of this right after buying 3 DLC's. I'm going to try single player and if that doesn't work I'm removing the [solved] and quitting this game.

Did a full reinstall of game and Redistribution package to see if singleplayer also has the pak corruption crash as it can happen anywhere from 30m to 4h into gameplay. will update if it crashes. if it does and paks get corrupted i will be done.

Brand new fresh install was immediately greeted by pak corruption no mods. going to verify and try again. and see if it still happens. keep in mind it happens if installed on C and my D drive visa versa. I've tried both of them separately.

i just want to say funcom should look into this issue. i started happening after Siptah dlc and its plaguing not just me. after this test if it corrupts again ill be off to play games that work. I'm slowly dying inside trying to play this.

Pak files might be corrupted by mods. we do use mods. gona look into this.

Mods don't cause pak file corruption errors. Mod authors get blamed for it (I've lost count of all the things my mods get falsely blamed for over the last 3 years), but no, not mod related.

This was unpinned and i found and solved it. shame. i was missing my chipset drivers for SATA.

My friend was randomly getting the message "Pak file is corrupted or changed" after 10 minutes of playing. Checking the cache didn't help.
We thought it was a Win10 update or Microsoft Visual C++.
After a lot of experimentation, we realized that we need to disable "Virtual Technology" in the BIOS. Now there is no error.
