items decay on death
hey all,
trying get back into conan, i am a PS5 player and yes i know this is a discussion forum for steam (PC), just hoping someone might have some info.
playing single player
since chapter 3 all items are instantly decaying upon death, last death was less the 3 minute run from my base but everything was gone and my thrall had even return instantly back to base.
this has never happened before in the yrs i have played,

question is, is there some settings im missing to change this decay timer? i just cant seem to find anything except the drop on death options

thank you all in advance

Your corpse should remain something like 20 or 30 minutes until disappearing, I'm not certain to the precise duration.
However, if you die a lot you'll not get your stuff back since there's a limit of 3 of the player's corpses on the map. Best way to get your stuff back is to use the summoning circle - but you'll need to learn and advance your sorcery.

Yeah understand that mate, but this was 1 death, run straight back nothing there.
We talking 2 maybe 3 minutes from death to get back to location, no body no gear and thrall gone (returned to last location within the 2-3 minute run from base to death location)
Have tried several times since chapter 3 to get back in and every death is same, loot despawns immediately.
Checked game log and it shows all loot despawn

Easiest way to test it is to bring a couple items with you that you don't care if you lose or not and die on purpose with a bedroll placed nearby. Die once and run back to your corpse within a few seconds and see if it's still there or not.

You running any mods that may have caused this to happen? Have you verified your game files lately?

I would say it could be this but fishing ranger said that they checked the log and it had decayed. That tells me that it's probably not this bug/issue that does happen with items, corpses, and unconscious enemies fairly often.

100%, ran the area for several minutes looking for body nothing, checked log and everything was showing red and decayed all with same time as death (maybe a second after)
Doesn't do it on a MP server just SP run.
Have even started new SP game, only setting changed are thrall n animal taming slightly faster

Ah, right. I only play it on PC... sorry.

Might be worth contacting support. https://funcom.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360059421512-How-to-report-a-bug
