Problem with the dregs dungeon.
I am having trouble getting onto the platform when the water rises, I seem to swim forward but make no attempt to jump out onto the ledge, What is the trick to get out of the water and onto the ledge when the water is at it's highest?

Jump. Space bar in standard key map.

I jump but I cannot clear the ledge, it like the water is to low. I have to spend ages trying to get up, and then it's usually by accident. I'm just wondering if it's a new bug associated with the latest patch because in you tube vids the water goes above the edge.

It's always been a pain to do, but the best way is to hit the space bare a few times as the water is almost at the top, if you wait too long and the water starts going down you won't make it

Yeah, it's always been fiddly to try to do.

Try not to be too close, my recollection is that there's a tiny bit of a lip there and I feel like I tend to get stuck on it sometimes. Being even a little bit further back sometimes seems to work better.

What helped me is moving to the left end of the edge. It can still be difficult but is much more consistent.

Thanks, I am going to have to try different ways of doing it because I'm having very little luck so far. This is actually the hardest part of the dungeon and really made me want to give up. Was it absolutely necessary for the dev's to make it so darn frustrating?
The vids I was watching that were made only a few weeks ago, he simply swam over the ledge, the water seemed to raise a little higher than it does now.

After you jump, keep the jump button pressed and look downwards. This game has had issues climbing over ledges since forever.

Your telling me. Also you have to laugh at the magnetic horse were you often get stuck to it's arze.
I don't know why they have to make it so hard to get out of the darn water, don't they play test this stuff. It's ruins al the enjoyment you would get from the dungeon.

One of the strangest things in this game is that when you're in the open world on the Exiled Lands map and on Siptah you can basically climb everything and when you're in most dungeons you can climb nothing. There are a few places that have specific climbable surfaces on. I know they did this so they can have some "puzzles" but I think they should have designed things in a different way...

They did it like this because when those early dungeons were created, climbing hadn't been added into the game yet. Once climbing was added, they didn't bother to go back and redo the dungeons.

I would imagine most of the puzzles and traps would be defunked if you could climb, take the dregs for instance.

Narr, I'm not making anything sound worse than what it is. You do get stuck to your horse often. You do find it hard to get out of the water and onto the path, that is until you know the trick of it like someone here says, look down when you jump. You shouldn't need a trick, the game should allow you to do it without messing about.

It honestly doesn't matter why - it's ridiculous and it's something that's continued in all the content they added after climbing was added. You can basically only climb very specific surfaces in vaults and dungeons. They were too lazy to go back and fix things. There are ways to still have "puzzles" and allow most surfaces to be climbed in dungeons and vaults.

Yeah it would and, as noted above, they were too lazy to go back and re-work things to account for players being able to climb pretty much any surface. Typical Funcom though - they often take the path of least resistance. Something doesn't make sense? Just leave it as is. 5+ year old bugs still plaguing the game? Just leave them as is.

You can bypass the need to raise the water level with the double jump ability.

I've managed to clear the dungeon without raising the water once, but ever since then I haven't been able to repeat the trick and keep failing in the second room where you have to raise the water to progress.
