2. The type of thrall thats available for hire is intentionally random among all the npcs that appear in the tavern. Siptah, Exiled lands and T4 thralls can potentially appear in the bar, and most of them wont be available for hire. You might get Amuranth the Swift available for hire or a pathetic Exiled Fighter. I managed to get the Prowler, and Amuranth the Swift, but not Sadeh the Lithe or Freya when they appeared, so its random.
What’s the point? Or are you saying he is a worthy T4 fighter himself?
I mean, does anyone really buy mercs from him or whatever other crap he is selling? I am genuinely curious. Maybe I am missing some wonderful opportunity by completely ignoring him.
i would expect tavern is to hire HEROES, make them lead an army to attack other people base
or at least make tavern can hire valuable thrall like t4 with 100% chance but high cost to balance, so make a system where you can "headhunt employee" like when you want to headhunt skilled people in RL
It's just like thralls in the world. They have less as NPCs than when you place them after capture. A berserker has 570 hp in the wild, and about 2800 when placed. Same with hired thralls, although avoid any that go for 10 or 50 gold, unless you need fodder, or maybe a performer who won't be used for combat.
Until now, we had a clear cut between combat and non-combat thralls. The barkeeper is the first non-combat thrall, we can actually place in the world. as soon as they expand this system and make more non-combat thralls placeable in the world, there will also be space for making them available via tavern or purge.
for Issachar, he may be interesting because of his shop (even if I haven't bought anything from him until now). I like the option to make him more accessable. He's often but not always there after a purge and if he's there, he tends to disappear kinda fast, therefore you already need to have all the necessary coins in your inventory at the moment you free him. Still, this is just a QoL thing in stead of an feature, I was looking forward for.
The problem with this is that was consensus most had with Sorcery. "It's just the foundation for the Sorcery system, nothing special right now but it could allow interesting stuff in the future like shapeshifting, and weapon/armor effects".
Instead they nerfed the only interesting spell that wasn't pure utility into uselessness.
You need to rescue him from the purge once.
After that he is added to the new Tavern system.
So make a Tavern first, then rescue him, and you can call on him for 1000 Gold for 8 hours.
I got many good thralls frim there and is fun to chech from time to time what clients you have. The spawn often.
It is a good start for more features and more items. I wish they were spawnining also with armors and also you could find working thralls there and traders
It is a good thing for players who like to spend time in the base.
In this case - good job Funcom
