In the southwest of the Exile lands, there's a city called Sepermeru (the City of the Relic Hunters), many of the NPC there are ... neutral, that is, they won't attack on sight. They will however attack if another NPC near them is attacked. There are also some merchants in the western part of the city.
There are ALSO some hostile thugs that WILL attack you, even in the city, so ... be careful.
This isn't a game where you get to have a lot of friends. Most NPCs are hostile.
you will not be getting any quests, besides what about the story intrests you. there are ways to find out more of the world, the conclusion of your first dungeon, the dregs will give you more clues, the multitude of notes found through the land, etc
'
also, this is a bit of a spoiler, but kinda important." removing your bracelet will kill you"
having the braclet removed by scorcerus means will take you out of the exiled lands
dont conclude the braclet removal quest (there is warnings, it obvious) your free to do all fthe tasks up to that point
race & color is for RP purpose , nothing else.
there is no reputation and most likly never will be.
game devs are to focused on that white powder on desk and don't want to please comunity that don't spend so don't expect much.
If you want a real role-playing experience, you should try the following mod:

I, however, would recommend to first try to play the vanila-game. But consider all and everything hostile and expect, that you will get attacked. It's none the less a bad idear to "first attack and ask later", because real friendly NPCs can't get attacked, however the neutral guards can, and they WILL defend and call for reinforcements, if you do so...
So expect everyone hostile, but be patient, none the less. If you are in aggro-range (you will learn in meantime) and they don't attack, then don't either. Mek-Amoses Spire is such an area. (challenges often demand to go there.)
I'm not realy sure, but I think Sepermeru is the only neutral CITY in the game. Every faction has a capital. Sepermeru is the capital of the relic hunters. You will also find Conan there.
Factions don't have a memory, so if you attack and survive, the folk won't remember that the next time. This means, you COULD try to capture some named thralls there, if you have the curage and be prepared to get swamed.
The summoning place is the capital of the dafari. That IS completly hostile, and more a giant temple than a real city.
Northheim has also a capital city. But I didn't have the courage to get into aggro range of that place, yet. (i was only in render-range, so that it got marked on the map.) The capital of the northheimer is north of the river e.g. more north than the northern part of the river-circle. So you propably won't get there by accident, since you must go to that area on purpose because the north area of the northen river is blocked by giant cliffs and you must find the entrance, first. it's north of the savanna. Look for two coloss-of-rhodos-like statues. Beware, there is a 3-skull tiger near that entrance. Tipp: you can also find foals here.
The black galeon is the capital of the pirates. It's a permanently ankored big ship. You can find some tresure here. Beware: if you take treasure, which you can't store into your backpack (e. g. you will carry it) you will constantly get attacked by stygian mercenaries. And they're much tougher than the normal folk you encounter south of the river, even the pirates. So be prepared for that.
There are probably more capitals, but although I play the game for several years now, I didn't realy find or search for them. The "cartographer" Journey will lead you to every capital as far as I have seen. Capitals have a colored faction-mark on the map (all others are white.)
The unnamed city is special. This is the big red area on the map. It's ruined and crawling with challenging enemies. (undeads, dragons, bats, scorpions, snakes, and relic hunters, the toughest humans you can find south of the river...) But it's also a rewarding place. You can find the cartographers room here and unlock the cartographer-perk, You can use the fast-travel-feature then. (Without the sorcery-teleport and -penalty, but limited to unlocked obelisks.)
