There is no reachable location for the purge to setup their basecamp
Its very buggy, is there a work around for this issue? Adding to an existing building seems to be difficult. None of my builds will start the new purge.

try this it worked for me use doors not gates don't put coffer more then 1 block high ,no elevators no multiple stair cases . make it a easy path make sure there's lots of flat area around your base i mean alot !!!! test it with tier 1s once you get it to work then from there u can adjust the difficulty of there access i use mines spider bombs zombie grave thralls zombie horde spell even a abysmal monster or two and lots of poison and explosive arrows its a bloodbath , with that said the loot u get really isn't worth all that much its a big let down so don't get your hopes up i am at 1727 my purge base is next to the den feel free to get a idea of what well work

To be clear I can get it to work on new builds, its just a shame that I have a SP that I worked on for several months that no matter where I put it the purge will not start. Plenty of land around me, tried tier 1 - 10 and no luck with the existing structure. So I will be forced to start over. I'm testing some things and have some ideas but it will require a new build. Sad but that's how it goes some times.

at my base the purge had problems when npcs or defenses were too far in front of the Gate, as the attackers want to set their camp very near to the gate. You should have your building with your treasures very near to this gate and in front plain space . The attackers set their camp directly in front of the gate. And ever if you try it anew after you changed your base you have to build a new treasure chest and destroy the old, otherwise the changes are not registered.

I have discovered that if there is not a path that the Purge can walk right up to your Treasury, it will fail to spawn. It will build its base in the nearest location to your base close to your treasury. Large rocks may cause parts of the base to be unreachable (thrall and merchant cages).
