There is an old saying, it goes like this: "A fool and his money are soon parted."
To support predatory monetization practices is foolish beyond measure.
Age of War II came with a much improved feeling of being surge sieged. Quite fun, and it happens seemingly at my readiness.
But taking it slow, don't want it to be like last time and nothing left to enjoy. (If I'm not earning something, it really isn't much of an experience).
Would hate to see my shopping days eliminated, did it change any if you shut the game down completely and 'reconnect'? It might just be an out of sync with the bazaar server. But that's probably tied into the dailys and rewards. So should be noticeable. Hmm, let's hope they fix it soon. Giving us additional time to stare at stuff we've already bought or passed on isn't really helpful. Will go check it out for myself, am only stalling due to patching today's update. Fingers crossed!
Bazaar should be cosmetic only stuff, which I believe is what Funcom originally said it would be and frankly no longer is now.
From what i've seen of the alpha big snake this thing can get into the 10k health range, probably with the well trained perk but considering the only snakes everyone else can get are crappy Cobra's that have next to no health even when fully levelled really sucks.
I dunno if these big snakes are really OP enough to warrant P2W accusations but it's most definitely within the same territory and definitely not something the vast majority of players are going to want to see more of with the BP going forward.
I'm hoping it's just a temporary issue with the store and they fix it soon. Or maybe they're reworking the Bazaar to put in a proper catalog and not just one page? That would be awesome.
Buying a game is not what you think it is, you are simply buying permission to play it. I do not think one person choosing not to buy something is going to make a difference, but I am not the only one. There are many people that choose to vote with their wallets so to speak. That number grows with the sharing of the information that brings these unethical practices to light. Like the information about the large snakes being locked behind the paywall. I had no idea that FunCom had done that until that info was shared here. I will not fall for these predatory practices and I urge others to learn to recognize these tricks and stop supporting them as well.
i wanted that aesir armor and i was thinking i still had time but nop.
i hope it will comeback one day :'( i guess it wont be before a very long time
I think the hotfix messed something up and bazaar items got refreshed instead of rotated.
Yeah I didn't expect this either, I like collecting pets and snakes are one of my favourite animals so one of the first things I wanted to do after booting up Conan after a while was go get some.
Didn't take much research to find out the big ones were BP exclusives.. and I was pretty annoyed by this.
Always thought the big snakes in Conan were really cool despite the comically long necks when they attack sometimes.
So yeah.. finding out I can't have one because I won't give Funcom money for tons of items that I won't have access to whenever the game serves go down, or for some reason I don't have net access or what not.. does make me more bitter towards the Battlepass than I used to be.
Nothing they put in that BP or the Bazaar is going to make me pay for it unless Funcom can guarantee that everything I give them money for will be accessible to me at all times, forever no matter what happens to this game in the future.
I am not giving them money for anything that gets stripped away the second my internet goes down or their live service does.. screw that.
wow, worst take i'v seen.
Oh and yes, changes usually take one person at a time, in time that one person is a sea of persons. but yea if everyone said "me alone don't change, so i stop caring" then yea we have truly lost this battle boys. (reason why dev keep doing this, gamers stop't caring)
Couldn't agree more.
It's a shame more people don't think that way but sometimes people do eventually come around to it when things get bad enough.
We have seen some pretty big and successful boycott's in recent years after all so it does definitely work when enough people take a stand.
End of the day what matters is your own opinion and how well you stick to it.
I can respect even a bad opinion that I completely disagree with so long as the people who have them genuinely believe in them and don't act like jerks about it.
That is just it though, they wont come around. They don't see the issue at all. These companies are being clever about it and introducing these practices a bit at a time. By the time it gets bad enough for the ones condoning what is happening now it will be their children that are saying "whats the problem?"
I am a firm believer in the Freedom of Choice. I choose not to support these practices. I see what will come if the consumers continue to support them. It has been happening already for years and that is how we have gotten here.
Hind sight is 20/20 but the wise man practices foresight.
