No More Offline Single player?
Lost my internet for a couple days last week and found i could no longer start a single player game without an internet connection. I Started the sandbox executable like i normally did in this scenario and it still wouldn't let me start a game without logging in to Funcom. Did they change something? or is this just a bug?

Wasn't this always the case? before the game even launches, you connect to the funcom services.
I'm guessing with the coming of bazaar/battlepass, it turned into an always-online kinda thing.

I disabled my wifi, loaded up the game to test this. No, you cannot play singleplayer/coop when offline anymore. Gives the message of needing to log into the Funcom account/servers

Not their best developer choice there.

Wait really? I originally bought this game years ago because offline single player was included and I actually enjoyed the sandbox time wasting and building. In fact, I wouldn't have bought this if it didn't have a single player offline component.

That's so rude... I was just checking the forum to see if I could run this on the steam deck, which I often play in places without Wi-Fi.

That's really unfortunate.

funcom categorically added an offline feature to the game, (which has worked for a few people) but never for me with the new launcher. (ive made several posts and even a video about it in recent months too)

the previous version Did run offline using the hades mod, which i have backed up with vm/win7 drive image, and that still runs find offline with no internet and my old save with different mods etc), but when i play online with this new treasure hoard/age of conan, only the online part works.

That result of integration of Funcom social ( seperet Funcom launcher, including in game market ) so it's been like that for while ...
You need to have Internet connection and be connected to Funcom social network - sadly , they went down for 1h last week and was unable to play on official server , tho as long you steam is connected to internet you can still play Local/ co-op adlist that was how it worked before Age of War Chapter 2 ...

I've been able to play offline as recently as yesterday when my internet went out for about an hour. I wonder why it's only affecting some people.

ah hi rethys, were you already connected to steam/launcher/conan game and then your internet went out?

if i login to play my solo game online, (a loss of internet, eg disable wifi) keeps playing, but if you fully disable wifi on your computer or router, and then try to launch steam in offline mode and the game, thats when it doesnt work for me :)

You can play offline but only the base game works
The game released with an offline mode if I recall and then they patched it out at some point.

No more single-player Conan Exiles...no more multi-player Payday...a game which play hinges on taking thralls and training animals now forces players to play with others while subtly pushing them to play PVP...and a game which play hinges on playing with other humans as a team now forces players to play with only NPCs...so PVE is bad unless it is tribalistic? Makes no sense...that is...until you begin to wonder if those types of gaming environments engender greater spending on microtransactions or not.

You got this wrong. The OP is about OFFLINE yes or no, not about SP yes or no.
As long as you are connected to the internet, you can play Single Player all you want ....

Oh I understood...I was just categorically dismissing IOT based CP as valid. I could be wrong about Payday as well...the 'suits' involved might just pullback from their decision...I was painting a picture...

You need to acknowledge the error message. The Funcom Services only activate the Battle Pass and Bazaar items for use. The SP game will function normally after that.
