Is there a time limit to get your loot after you die

Yes. Ten minutes if I recall it right. Had it twice where I did not manage it back to my loot in time.

I believe the default is 30 minutes, you'll find the following in serversettings.ini.

Also something like 5 corpse limit, if you die a few times trying to retrieve then it will despawn if too many deaths happen trying to recover.
