hidding armor on thralls?
i could've swore there was a mod like "Fashionist v4.4.7" that allowed you to hide armor on your thralls, so you could customize their look, like you can yours. when i first thought i saw this was back on my friend's first server. i deleted all my mods in order to mass sub to all the server mods, but it was never their in the thrall menu so idk if i'm just dreaming this or if there's a mod that does it, that he ended up mistakenly deleted.

There probably was a mod like that. I don't know if there still is one that works. But you can always use the transmute function on the thaumaturgy bench to customize the armor on your thralls.

Obviously you can't just make them look completely naked and it doesn't work for crafting thralls. But at least you can get your fighters, archers and dancers in some outfits you like.

Fashinist has a thrall bench and armour stands. Using the stands you can put the look you want on your thralls then use the bench to change the look to that of what is on the stand.

I use it for my crafting thralls so they are all wearing the same thing. I believe it works with the fighters as well.

i'm using vam so all my thralls have Valkyrie grade armor. but after awhile it starts getting boring seeing every thrall i've ever gotten in their armor only. so wanted to change it up so there's some kind of differences between them. they all basically look the same at the moment haha

Using the illusion system of the thaumaturgy bench, you can customize the look of each piece of gear, but it is limited to craftable gear (no unique/found only items). You also need a copy of each item (the base item, and the item you want it to look like), so it's a bit more costly and time consuming, as you can only customize one item at a time per bench. But, you do get to make each thrall look unique regardless of which mods are used as it's a base game feature now.

As for making it look like they're not wearing a piece, that's a bit trickier using the illusion system. For heads, wrists, and feet you can use jewellery. For chests, the darfari necklace works for male characters. Fully bare female chests, if that is a goal of yours, is a bit harder (I don't think there is an item that has them fully exposed, though a few come close).

Since I got my bench, I've made custom gear for all my level 20 thralls as well as my character. I used the best heavy armor I can make and then pick out the light armor that I like the look of.

Once created I use the dye bench to color the pieces from different sets that I think look go together so they look like they go together.

So my thralls and my character all have a more casual look but have the highest armor stats possible. And not a suit of armor in the bunch.
