Journey for cooking
I cooked meat in the campfire, and took it out, but it's not completing the step. Even tried restarting the game, it still didn't register it...

Um, dude, I think you might be playing the wrong game, lol! Thank you though for answering though!

This is about a Journey step in Conan Exiles, in the Survivor branch, where it's telling you to cook meat in a campfire, which I've done, and then take the meat from the inventory of the campfire and put it either into your character inventory or onto your hotbar. I've tried both.

I do have mods, but I don't see how any of them could effect journey steps. I'll try removing all mods and restarting just to be sure though...

I think you need to cook it in the bonfire and not the campfire. That is if I am remembering the step correctly.

Removing all mods and starting a new character did the trick.

Ok, in case this helps someone else. I cooked my meat in the bonfire and took it to the inventory. Didn't trigger the journey step. Tried quite a few times. I'm a developer so I was kind of thinking why may it not work? Perhaps if cooked meat is already in the inventory it won't trigger. So I went to a storage box and moved all my cooked meat into there. Almost headed back to the bonfire but I thought...if it wasn't triggering because of the meat already there, maybe just bring it back into the inventory. So I open the storage box and took the cooked meat into my inventory and BOOM the journey step completed.

I think in multiple incidences in the journey steps that this little 'bug' can occur if you already have something in your inventory and it wants you to make a new one. Probably an event listener for something to show up in the inventory but because it is already there it isn't registering it coming into the inventory.

This worked for me, but didn't have to store it, just dropped it and picked it back up. Worked perfect.

Thank you for this post. Worked for me; dropped, then picked back up.

У меня было так же, но как оказалось я жарил ни то мясо, пожарил человеческую ногу, но вот назначить повара на улучшенную плиту у меня почему то у меня Галочка не стоит
