In any case, it's good policy while you're still learning the game to build a small hut with spare supplies at your bedroll location. There are several other dungeons where extreme temperatures or locked doors will prevent you from getting back to your body should you die, so you'll need a backup plan.
(Or just learn trashy sorcery and remove all the challenge from this "survival" game.)
That'll help a lot along with those breathing potions.
2. Don't expect any easy fight.
Note: Down in that dungeon, there is a recipe for "Dagon's Breath".
Last time I used it I didn't run short of needing air to breathe until I went back into the water. Then use it again. It seems to provide an extended time to stay underwater without running out of breath.
Those fools thought to capture Dagon himself.
I had that woman mixed up with Razma of Shem who's in a different dungeon instance in the same city. But that one who got you is the one you have to kill to free the emissary.
The good news to that is once she's dead, that should open two portals to leave. One sets you out along the river and the other takes you back out to near where you entered the dungeon via that boat.
sweet summer child, loses a set and already crying to mama.
I think that's referring to a bedroll so you can respawn there, with some potions.
