Also.. you are technically using it.. every time someone walks up to your face in multiplayer wearing a battle pass armor your game needs to have that in order to render it for you...
btw, as modder when i get banned on the forum for some reason, i can't access my mod on steam, can't upload or edit (witch is really annoying BUT i'v learned to temper my self because of it too =D)
But it's on my permanent record!!!
There is no reason to get your account banned trying to hack the game. Find a group of like minded enthusiasts if it's that important to you. Funcom is generously allowing people to do their own communities with their own custom mods. That's AWESOME and lays the foundation for this game having a deep and long lasting fanbase.
Everything else is all a moral calculation for how much fun you think the game is and how much you want Funcom to keep developing it. It's not Funcom's fault some of us have Consumer brains, wired to crave what we don't have. They cannot be expected to dance around that merely to avoid offending people... they have already danced as far a company can without forgoing reliable revenue.
If this game was made by a one man super chad like Derek Smart, maybe it could get away without reliable income... but Funcom has employees and investors. It either abandons the project for something more profitable or it makes this game continue to have revenue sources.
Maybe one day, the video game market will be ruled by people like Derek Smart, but for now, big studios are required to make games like Conan Exiles and sustain new content and servers for it.
