all tames and combat thralls feel worthless and underpowered
as the title says, wtf where they thinking when implementing a drastic stamina and health "rework" that nobody asked for? pets and thralls EVEN GREATER VARIANTS die in three to four hits to a T1 enemy EVEN WHEN WEARING HEAVY ARMOR?????????? pathetic update. another typical Funcom L

Then i must be playing a different game? The only pet that seems to be underwhelming is my greater shaleback. My greater komodo, the normal komodo and the normal sabretooth are doing fine up to awesome with default server settings and no mod interfering. My pets are currently between lvl 8-19 ... *headscratch*

Komodos have poison, which helps ngl
sapertooth, cats in general, are among the better pets iirc

Those 2 points of damage barely do anything even with the reduced hp pools of bosses and before they can apply another stack the first one's already gone, but their leap attack is pretty strong and they are tanky. Crocodiles are good too!
Will test a couple other pets, but so far only the greater shaleback was a disappointment compared to the previous age. And hyenas maybe too; i remember reading that they still get stuck.

I have 18 level 20 fighters; almost all have their stats lower than they were by quite a bit. The weird thing is that a couple of them still have their old stats.

Now they are real treasures with 3 or 4 thousand health, and one that I just finished training to 20 has just under 1.200 armour wearing the exact same armour as my character.

My character with the same armour has just over 700 and 176 health.

I also have to slow down my combat, because just a few hits drop my stamina to 0.
Stamina does recover much faster though, so if I space out my strikes, I can keep my stamina up, but it greatly changes my timing in combat.

All my RHTS are trash now. All the time getting them and leveling them up is wasted now.
I will take a break from the game until they fix the thralls.
"Fix the thralls" they're not broken lol it was an update meant to do that, but yes thralls are much weaker now, although I guess they do that so our thralls can not steam roll everything.

The stam regen definitely negates any cons they did with the stamina system.

Well, the Thrall that I just trained is dead.
The first time I got into combat she died even with the almost 1.200 armor.

I've never had a level 20 thrall get killed before, so I'm going to have to be more careful from now on.

I went to the strange tower and my thrall picked a fight with the guards, I should have set him on don't attack anything.

My character got killed too, and recovering my body didn't work, even though I tried 3 times
and logged out in between so apparently everything useful about Sorcery is no longer working.

So I had to make a whole new set of armor, then make a whole new set of armor that looked the way I want, and go through the process to combine them.

All this just trying to get an arm!

If anyone wanna try pets now, here are my experiences:
The last hotfix contained a change pretty much hidden among the notes- pet type followers have greatly increased hp multipliers now. With an authority build my leveled Frost Giants now have 10k+, even 14k+ HP, along with around 1300 armour, and thy don't get staggered, altough a bit slow with their attack anims.
Against bosses I like to use these Giants and my Sand Reaper Queen too- has around 7k HP now, 1700 armour and applies 10 stack of poison with her spit-attack (able to apply 20-30 stacks at a time), used her to kill the Arena Champion, with a lvl 20 Berserker helping (Berserker almost died at the end, while the Queen had half her hp left)

Pets always had way better scaling on vitality than most thralls. I'm not really surprised by that.

From what I've seen the 125 HP thralls are mostly exiles in the noob area and they are tier 1. the more north you go and look for other areas for thralls the better starting health they have.

Alternatively you can give tier 1 exiles medium or heavy armor and they will survive encounters against crocs, shaleback, and tier 1 humans. Things die rather quickly. But if they get surrounded they can get stun locked and never able to attack and die rather quickly. So its important to be a part of the battle as much as your thrall is. Its a team effort.

I am willing to bet that thralls will be of use in the areas they appear in. With some exceptions like named thralls. There was a chart on stats that I saw on reddit that covers what you should expect for Age of War.
Obviously the farther you are from the exile lands the better the thralls will be from 1-3. at least in starting health.

You can quickly get to L35 on noob river. make blunted arrows, put a kit on your bow and take down a named river thrall in about 6 shots (10 points in authority. That thrall is strong enough at L20 (quick leveling thrall) to take out boss crocs and other stuff. Then go get some better ones using them as back up. @Bookercatch is correct when they say that thralls are area defined, but there are some low level gems/glass cannons out there
