Confirmed to work - Boot the game and get to the main menu. If you spam retry at the online connection screen for about 10 minutes (roughly 30 - 50 attempts), the server does let you through eventually and gets you to the server list. Numerous people I know have been doing this to get into the servers and while it does take time and is quite annoying, it does in fact work.
