best weapon for pve group clearing thrall?
ive tested with a 1h mace type weapon in full heavy armour and a 2h mace with full heavy armour but I the thralls often die. any ideas on what weapon wont get the thrall get stun locked in a big group and die? Im thinking great swords but i havent tested it yet. also do thrall hp and armour pools increase the higher up the map you go? like a t3 dafari fighter is probably never going to be on par stat wise compared to something from the tundra areas?

The best thralls you can get are Dalinsia Snowhunter and Cimmerian berserkers as well as Relic Hunter Treasure Seekers.

Before the AoW update the Tenderizer was the best weapon in the game. Now, it's been nerfed nearly to death.
The best weapons you can find are some of the legendary mauls with high damage and armour pen. Equip your thralls in the best armour you can make -- Dragon armour or Redeemed Silent Legion or Godbreaker. You can add armour plating mods to further increase their protection.
Of course, until you're leveled up enough and geared up you'll have to do with the best you can craft yourself. I'd still recommend the Tenderizer -- you need an upgraged Pit of Yog and a Yog Confessor for the best result.

In Age of War chapter 1, the best thralls are the named Darfari Cannibals -- Thugra, Cannibal Brutes and the Ritualist. Dalisina and the 'zerkers are still strong, but can't beat the damage handed out by those raised on man flesh. The RHTS have been hit repeatedly in the head with the nerf bat and are not the same as they used to be.

You can find the named Darfari in Thugra's Stand (doh) and the large desert camps (Summoning Place, Skulker's End and Riverwatch Camp). They are much less likely to kill a recruiter than the Cimmerians and level much much faster.

They start with low HP, so you will need to be careful till they get a few levels. Do not let them get engaged by a large camp. Humans are the most dangerous foe these days so you will need to learn to pull carefully. The best thrall weapon is the mace because thralls will do a full combo and get stun immunity. The best mace for a thrall is Momentum which is still available from the Kithan traders for a mere 15 oboli.

Not everyone is going to be end game, you have to give options for early, mid, end game.

The thrall strengths go in this order..

1. Exiles
2. Darfari
3. Lemurian
4. Black hand
5. Dogs of the Desert
6. Heirs of the North
7. Forgotten Tribe
8. Frost Giants
9. Votaries of Skelos
10. Relic Hunters

Even if you get a named darfari it still won't be as strong as a Lemurian for example.

As for group clearing thralls, the simplest answer is there isn't... thralls die when exposed to groups take at least 2 thralls to New Asgarth and you'll find they'll only kill half that place before dying (providing they're at least heirs of the north upwards)

You can try 2H swords which may work, there is no stunlock avoidance you take damage you get stunned, and yes thralls get stronger from the deeper you go within the map.

That is old information. The hidden melee damage modifier for the named Darfari is higher than the Lost Tribe ('zerkers and Dalisina) and their health per vitality is higher like the RHTS used to be. Unless you can put them in epic armor initially or have the Well Trained perk, you have to coddle them for the first few levels. Feed them stake for vitality, fight things that come one or two at a time like crocs, rocknoses, undead hyena and some skeletons.

Once they have some decent HP, and a legendary weapon they will plow through bosses faster than Dalisina or Kisthis ever did.

It doesn't make a lot of sense that the second tribe you meet would give you the best thralls, but this is Funcom logic we are dealing with.

Thugra and his equivalents are excellent choices. They have nearly identical HP bonuses to Dalinsia and around a 3.9 x melee damage multiplier which is pretty much the best in the game unless you're using a mod that allows for things like recruitment of the arena champion. Even then the damage multi is close.

As far as weapons go, 2 handed sword is a decent choice as is a 2 handed mace, though the 1-handed mace appears to still be the best option when used without a shield because thralls don't have a clue how to use shields properly.

My personal choices for thrall weapons, depending on what my thralls and I will be fighting, are either Momentum for the sheer damage output or Aja's bane for the 10% hp insta-kill ability.
