Lighting around player characters
Added a minimum of light around a character even when not carrying a light source. This still needs some tweaking for different environments.

This was implemented in the latest patch and since it's been added I find it more difficult to see. I get that they darkened night and caves in general but the issue I'm experiencing is more with how our eyes work. With light around my character my eyes can't adjust to the darkness elsewhere. Further I can't tell if this is an ocular illusion born of this or real but it feels like there's a shroud of darkness around my character just out of range of the light but farther in the distance it seems perfectly fine.

Is anyone else experiencing any of this? I find it is actively discouraging me from playing at night in any environment.

It never fully got dark during the eclipse so you are not used to things being fully dark at night. BK (before Kurak) in many areas you needed a torch to move around safely. Dragging a thrall during a thunder storm when you needed to wait for a lighting flash to move was one of the best challenges in the game.

I was worried about this change negating the need for torches, but it hasn't. Sometimes I can go with out a torch when I previously would have used one.

I'm not experiencing the "shroud of darkness" you are.

No, that's not it. I used to run around without torches, without the nightstalker mask and without night-eye potions. This includes the thunderstorms the game would experience and seldom would use anything on Siptah either which got substantially darker than Exiled Lands.

Even still as I indicated in the OP I can presently see things in the distance fine. It's like there's a darkness between me and anything in the distance centered around just outside of my character's light bubble. It's fine if other's aren't experiencing it. I'll run some tests and look into it a bit more.

I came back to play Conan after a break. This light around my character is very annyoing. Is there a option to turn it off or a mod to make it go away?

Unfortunately I haven't found a setting and I have no idea if there's a mod to disable it. I really wish it could be turned off though.

I find this natural light or also here the limited visibility in the dark ingenious. When it gets really dark like Field of the Dead then you see at least bissl more and does not run from tree to tree

Not ideal, but if you are out running about the countryside in the dark, I recommend using Glimmermoon or any of the other weapons that "glow." Ensure your weapons are viewable when sheathed, you will have enough ambient light to see where you are going with a tool equipped. Bonus, they glow whilst climbing. Additionally, Sorcery has the spastastic wisp that can add needed light.

I'm missing this aura mesh light thing completely and shadows are completely black even during the day in the desert (i step in and you cant see a thing). does anyone know the fix for this? :(
I've found that there are places where it never gets dark.
I built my new base just a few feet to the East of one, completely by accident.

Any time I leave my house on the west side it's light in a small area, the size of a 50" square.
