You cannot activate Sorcery station buttons while over-encumbered, not even if you have beast of burden.
Most likely the intent behind it was so that your character doesn't get locked in super long animations when trying to auto-path around stations etc.
And you even get an error message flash up when you open the station in case you're over-encumbered.
What they could improve on it though is that if the above is true and movement speed is their only reason for this, they could add an exception for when the character has beast of burden and can move at full speed. However it's only a guess that the speed was their actual reason, though I can't really see any other.
Still, doesnt make sense, it breaks immersion, i mean u can patch yourself up with a healing kit, and do drink animations with aloe potions, even emote using a sword if you got a bazaar freebie emote, all of this u could do even when your overencumbered. I dont see why you cant do sorcery rituals or even access sorcery placements like u would do in a normal crafting bench.
Sorcery stations make you walk around them to get into position... and there are other events that need to be timed fairly precisely to the animation. Like don't think that somehow the animation does it all or that it's "linked" to whatever else is happening with the station and the spell.. nope :P it gets played and everything else is timed so that it matches up as they are otherwise async.
So if you have a stupidly slow movement speed forced on you because of being overencumbered then your zombie would pop out of the ground while you're not even halfway there to summon it :P Stuff like that...
The point is really simple, you OUGHT to be able to do sorcery stuff even when your overencumbered PERIOD, its just counter-intuitive and stupid for Funcom to not allow this at all
On that front though, apparently the devs disagree with you seeing as you can't :)
I for one get why they did it and tried explaining it above.. now if I'm just talking to a wall and you're not actually interested in any of that and you just want to be angry at someone, then by all means, carry on lol..
Otherwise, let's hope that point is going to sink in eventually for you as well :D
Tell me, do you have to buy the arm-chair yourself, or does it get supplied to you directly by Steam?
