In any case, it's not really necessary, I didn't missed them before and don't see much use in them now either, perhaps for some of the metal bars if you are not familiar with the game, but both the campfire and the furnace are very simple as they only have the most basic recipes and unlike the rest of the workstations they work automatically, crafting every item available once turned on.
The campfire will give you the cooked version of whichever type of meat/fish you place in them, you can also make gruel with seeds and plant fiber. For the more complex recipes you need an oven, which will show the recipes you know.
The furnace will turn ore into metal bars, to make steel you need iron bars and steelfire (you can place iron ore + steelfire and it will make iron bars and then turn them into steel automatically), hardened steel needs steel bars + black ice and star metal requires star metal ore + black ice.
Of course, both require fuel, you can use whatever you want, I normally use wood for campfires and coal for furnaces.
BTW, star metal requires 2 star metal ore + 1 black ice + 1 brimstone.
There is no oven in the base game. Bread is made in the furnace and all other cooking recipes need a stove.
It's like I'm playing Escape From Tarkov again. You need to watch youtube videos and streams to LEARN what this game is offering you. Man, only after all this videos I've found out that there is some bosses and recipies around the map. Hell, there is even more cool stuff rather than just weapons made of steel. Game says nothing to you.
it's from Unlock Plus and the main reason for this feature is "pull resources". you can't pull resources from your chests to the crafting station if you can't pick the recipe

Isn't it for singleplayer?
this.
i understand the intention behind having to discover recipes and their ingredients first, but i don't really like this mechanic. especially since you have to remember all these hidden recipes. which crafting station has which recipe with which ingredients... that's a hell of a lot of recipes and ingredients to keep in mind in conan exiles.
no mods on official servers
I'm just mostly frustrated that the mechanic was unclear.
Look them up in your skills and see if you've purchased them with your points.
You may not be high enough level to train them yet as well.
