Recipes for Crafting Stations
Am I missing something, why some of Crafting Stations (camfire, furnace, etc.) doesn't have recipes inside them? I am a new player, so, how exactly am I suppose to guess the recipes for steel bars or super bricks (or whatever they are). According to the picture inside the furnace, this thing can only melt ore into iron bars. Do I have to check some settings inside the game? How do I see all recipes without opening browser every minute?

I do see the recipes inside the furnace and campfire, but that might be because of a mod, no idea which one as I use quite a lot of them.

In any case, it's not really necessary, I didn't missed them before and don't see much use in them now either, perhaps for some of the metal bars if you are not familiar with the game, but both the campfire and the furnace are very simple as they only have the most basic recipes and unlike the rest of the workstations they work automatically, crafting every item available once turned on.

The campfire will give you the cooked version of whichever type of meat/fish you place in them, you can also make gruel with seeds and plant fiber. For the more complex recipes you need an oven, which will show the recipes you know.

The furnace will turn ore into metal bars, to make steel you need iron bars and steelfire (you can place iron ore + steelfire and it will make iron bars and then turn them into steel automatically), hardened steel needs steel bars + black ice and star metal requires star metal ore + black ice.

Of course, both require fuel, you can use whatever you want, I normally use wood for campfires and coal for furnaces.

The first time through you will need to do a lot of experimentation, ask in chat, or check the wiki. After that you will likely remember.

BTW, star metal requires 2 star metal ore + 1 black ice + 1 brimstone.

There is no oven in the base game. Bread is made in the furnace and all other cooking recipes need a stove.

True, I ment the stove, I didn't even remember you made bread in the furnace.

It's not about "future gaming" it's about bad game design. There are a million crafting stations and I can't see what they are for, before placing them. You can't see difference between different tiers of the same crafting stations. You've no idea what "hidden" recipies can be crafted on one of them. Weapons and armor doesn't show it's stats and bonuses before you craft it. Torches and crates are under "buildings" menu and etc.

It's like I'm playing Escape From Tarkov again. You need to watch youtube videos and streams to LEARN what this game is offering you. Man, only after all this videos I've found out that there is some bosses and recipies around the map. Hell, there is even more cool stuff rather than just weapons made of steel. Game says nothing to you.

it's from Unlock Plus and the main reason for this feature is "pull resources". you can't pull resources from your chests to the crafting station if you can't pick the recipe

Are mods allowed on the official servers?
Isn't it for singleplayer?

this.

i understand the intention behind having to discover recipes and their ingredients first, but i don't really like this mechanic. especially since you have to remember all these hidden recipes. which crafting station has which recipe with which ingredients... that's a hell of a lot of recipes and ingredients to keep in mind in conan exiles.

The biggest problem is it not telling you more clearly that you need to experiment to learn and uncover new recipes. It should be a little note pinned to the top of the crafting UI's until you close it manually. A setting with a simple check box "Manually Discover Recipies" checked on in normal and hardcore.

I'm just mostly frustrated that the mechanic was unclear.

If you don't see certain recipes in workstations it may be because you haven't trained them.
Look them up in your skills and see if you've purchased them with your points.

You may not be high enough level to train them yet as well.
