their point of view, they whent the correct way.
Funcom, what is happening to you? How could you go from your DLC model which had a good amount of interesting content for a reasonable price, to this? If you put Conan on a more or less life support because you need to focus on your Dune survival game then I might understand, but if this is an indication of how your future game would be then it is really sad.
Battle pass is just an introduction to their overpriced Bazaar. Funcom won't bother with BP soon since it's not as profitable as Bazaar.
The most worrying thing is that the same thing can happen to Dune and it will be from day 1.
I haven't purchased BP yet because it's simply not worth it. You can get the full Conan Exiles game on sale for less than $20 while $10 BP gives less than 1% of that content. It would take years to get actual value from this BP and you can use that money to get a new game that will give you a whole new experience for many hours.
What am I missing?
You're missing the fact that you have to spend time grinding levels in the BP to get those coins.
The shills and simps are missing all the points and ignoring all the facts, sadly.. They only see it their way and Funcom's way.
Nice Funcom! Great job you're doing in slowly and painfully kill the game.
Why would anyone in their right mind have even bothered screwing around with that?
Oh, yeah .. people wanted it, Suggested it and even Demanded it.
Now look what's happening.
They only gave you a taste of it. Accidental release?? I call B.S. on that.
We're stupid enough to get hooked on free samples, now they're gonna make you pay for it. I'm not going to fall for it.
Don't want to get fleeced? Quit playing the "sucker-punch" micro transaction game. Stick with the basics.
I told them right off the bat that it was a really bad idea. One that'd turn the community against them.. Queue the shills and simps..
Can't really imagine a lot of people buying their Dune survival game after taking a literal piss on the entire community with their 'bazaar' and battle pass move for conan exiles, a game that had been out for years already and is a buy to play title to boot..
Sure, if those people with more money than brains want to throw their money out the window due to a lack of any economical sense, so be it, it just means they have no clue, but telling me it's worth it, when it's obviously not, considering you got far more through the DLCs than you'll get from the store + bazaar combined, so no, it's not worth it. Single items in the bazaar costing more than an entire DLC pack is just ridiculous..
Its kind of a sign that the company needs the money. Its a strategic choice to overprice stuff and try to get the money off the whales. I just hope there is enough of them to keep this great game going.
ps. I did by the previous battlepass, dunno about this one.
pps. If theres any devs listening: the thing that would make me invest money into the game would be building blocks that look like dark material or ruins. I always hated how most everything I build looks too bright, or has that gold/sand color tint, or lights up like an american house during halloween.
I want things that look gritty and like they are part of the landscape.
