Truncheon + Advanced Weapon Damage Kit = Bad?

No, it wouldn't improve it, in fact it would be counter-productive actually since your truncheon would end up doing more health damage so your target would be at the risk of dying before they get knocked out.

What you need is a blunted fitting, that will increase the concussive damage of weapons rather than the health damage.

Use a blunted weapon kit for the truncheon, there is also some armour sets such as lemurian royal to boost concussive damage, you can also make a potion with the jhebbal sag religion.

And of course investing stat points into authority.

No it would not. Instead it would damage thralls and maybe kill them. Use the advanced blunt fitting to help add concussion damage.
