Rhino Spawn Location Question

Recently got the game, and have been doing a fair bit of exploring, and also comparing to some online maps, and I'm noticing, particularly for mob spawns, that they don't seem to always match up. In particular I was looking for rhinos and many of the spawn locations noted on the online maps don't seem to actually have rhinos. I have found rhinos in a few areas though so they do exist.

So question is, did something change and the online maps are out of date? I was about to chalk it up to just an incorrect map (although every map I've checked so far has the same spawn marked), but looking through old discussions I noticed someone complaining about one of the rhino spawns I was looking for so clearly it was there at one time (and given the complaint was they were unavoidable I don't think I'm missing them). Or maybe is it a server setting, like I'm set too easy for these other spawns to show up or something?

it go by ur setting if u goit it on barbaric i guess u see more but if u have it on easy you don't have so many

get to the middle of the savanah in the north of the desert biome, or go around the oasis at "muriela's hope" near the main camp of the dogs of desert faction. If you don't find rhinos there, well, then sthing is wrong in your game.

Yeah, the spawns locations changed when they released the Frozen North update when the game was still on early access.

Now locations are more "themed" and less random/varied. You have the elephants located in the savannah, the rhinos are there too... you have a fairly concentrated spider area, and the crocs are on/near water, etc. etc.

Many of the old maps are outdated now, so keep in mind the date when you looking for info... anything from before May 8th (release date) should be taken with a grain of salt :)

Okay, will keep that in mind that the maps may be out of date, or at least restricted to a certain difficulty level.
