It said I was blocking something, me who goes out of their way to avoid blocking any spawn points, even a nest of eggs.
My old place was much larger than the place I have now.
What's the deal, I've played since beta, but I think that to take away everything you have done in months of work without even giving you a heads-up sucks.
I spent last night saving all my thralls and moving them to a new fort I built out of the remains of the old place and now this.
I guess it's time to move on to another game, this, after I spent months, rebuilding smaller all the stuff they nuked when they merged my old server.
if someone don't like you, they can report and destroy all entire clan.
so 80% of the players in all servers need to be nuke. Like in official servers PvE.
why this now????? it's abusive they can't destroy your invested time like that.
search for your rights.
you are liked and you play since the beta (like me).
why not rent your own server if you nolife this game?
people would join you and you could be an admin and even make your own queslines/npcs.
I play other games too. I've played Lots of Single-player RPGs going way back, I'm 84.
I've played MMOs starting when we still have to play on dial-up.
I have active accounts for things like The Elder Scrolls Online and I have the ability to play it for a few months and then go play something else for a while.
I already purchased the new Harry Potter game, and I'm looking forward to that.
I also can just log in to several of the Assassins Creed games, and I'm going to play the Witcher 3 again when the new version comes out next month. It was one of my favorite games of all time and I've only played through it once.
So I've already logged back into several of my old game and picked up right where I left off.
The thing I liked about Conan was the building and I had a different slant on it than most people.
Instead of building a huge structure, I build a mid-sized base and then landscaped around it, I built a maze that was open to other players on the server and changed it from time to time.
Then I came up with a theme and build a ruined building and aged walkways so the whole area had a theme, with trash laying around corrals for the horses and bridges that were for everyone's use. I built a classic bridge across the river away from my house.
When I discovered that there was a spot in the river that had a crock jumps out to the river, I built the Crock Hop bridge. It had a gap right where the crock jumped and when you would jump the gap the crock would come out of the water and try to grab you.
If I can't do stuff like that and my comedy club featuring Bog Gnu Heart, then it's just time to move on.
I'll still be around here on Steam, I don't know how long I have left, but I'm not going to stop gaming. That's one of the advantages of being so old you can't do anything else adventurous. You have a lot of time on your hands.
Mike
The other simple thing they should do is either extend no-build zones vertically, or decrease land claims vertically. Right now on the primary official server I play on there are two places where thralls I'd like to have are being spawn blocked by people building way above them. Like you can just about shut down Sinner's Refuge by building above it, and the person doing it often has no idea they're affecting the subterranean cavern underneath them. I could of course report them, but I don't want to nuke everything they've ever done over a thrall I'd like to have but don't really need, especially if it isn't clear they've done this intentionally.
Yet at the same time I understand there's no way staff have the time to painstakingly review every claim and only chisel out the absolute minimum necessary with a scalpel, instead of pressing the nuke button. So start with a build limit. That'll at least give people a frame of reference as to how much is too much before they get nuked.
I was going to single out Mike's maze as something that just doesn't belong on an Official PVE server because it doesn't serve any purpose except to spam land claims and waste space, but the devs are literally introducing hedge maze pieces as a new construction item in the next battle pass. Adding that kind of thing without a build limit is just irresponsible. People aren't going to build tiny mazes, they're going to build gigantic ones that have a chance of being difficult to solve. But nobody with any brains is ever going to wander in there, because that leaves you vulnerable to the owner sealing off the exits and trapping you, and in PVE your only way out is to suicide and leave your gear behind to the maze owner. So it's just going to be a colossal waste of space and server resources. At least make builders sacrifice other things they could have built within a build limit to build mazes instead.
If you know the way you could go through the whole thing in about a minute.
But if you got lost it could be a lot longer.
The thing is it was fun for me to try to figure out how to fool people into going in the wrong direction. You could work your way to the top and not be in the correct part of the top and not be able to get out.
The funny thing is before the merge, my base was three times the size of the one that was destroyed, and I had this whole city with shops, inns, a maze, an art gallery, and the crop hop bridge and no one complained and it never disappeared. Plus several tombs were for real people I knew who died. One of them was my Conan friend who I had played with for years.
But there's a lot of new stuff coming along and it's time to move on.
Wait....did you make it out of sandstone?
Did you also ever play on #1930 No Ping server by any chance on NA?
Cause if its THAT pyramid....it was AWESOME.
That's ludicrous that they'd pull that stunt....
Clearly making it a fun experience for other players like any community member would....and they tear it down?
Wow. Great work Mods. Not much in the liking of a good community huh.
