modded servers mod mismatch loop.

Trying to join modded servers and I'm constantly stuck in a mod mismatch loop, despite the server being fully updated along with mods on my side. I've tried to unsubscribe and resubscribe to mods and have also verified the game files several times to no joy.

What, if any, is the fix for this annoying issue when I just want to play the game?

Are you launching from a short cut to join your last session?
I found if I try to use a short cut to open the game to my last session it wont work. But if I launch the game and then join the server it works fine.

Your best bet is to unsubscribe from the mod/s that were recently updated on the server, and then join and let them download again. Gonna suck, but it will at least get you back onto the server.

Try verifying your game in the steam client. Mine just failed on one file and downloaded a 27 GB file that did fix the issue. !@#$ good thing I have a fast internet. Put the details in another post so I don't pollute yours.

I'd remove all YOUR mods. do not reinstall them.
Make sure server is updated.
Rejoin server and let it give you the mods it has.
This way you know you're getting the same version.

Just a follow up, I am not sure if it was related but following a steam update I was able to join as expected after a restart of the server.
