1. 10 failed pages = 1 good page. I don't know if this is a guarantee or not, but it's worked for me in the past. I had a good thrall on my table though, so that may have been why.
2. Use materials to create a spell page. If yo don't have the stack of 10 failed pages to use, you can use the listed materials to try for a page. This time, the kind of thrall most liekly matters, because it did produce a failed page once or twice.
This method requires other tables to be used.
If it keeps failing to create a good page, it's OK, because you'll eventually have 10 pages to trade in.
Put your Tome of Kurak (you get it from the cave where you learn sorcery) into the thaumaturgy bench (learned at the same place) along with the other required materials and craft the upgrade. Same way you would craft something at any other crafting bench.
If you haven't learned sorcery yet, then the pages are worthless for you.
That is the required mats to make a spell page. The spell page itself and the tome you find, plus certain other ingredients are used to upgrade the tome. The first upgrade requires the tome, one spell page, and if I remember right one putrid meat and one stone.
