Game freezes. Any solutions?
Hey folks,
I still get freezes, where the sound still go on but the game/picture is frozen. The taskmanger say's "ConanSuvival.exe - No response". I allready verified the gamefiles and also reinstalled my graphics driver via DDU. I got the game run for 2-4 hours before the newest update comes, but now it crash after around 30 min.

Also did a dxdiag but nothing apears related to conan or funcom, but it seems that the radeon driver chrashed.

Anyone got a solution for this problem?

Well, that's not it. That's a pretty good rig, although PC Gamer gives the card a low score at a 66 for games. Try adjusting some of your settings on the card itself through the AMD driver settings. Especially the Ray Tracing options.
I haven't used an AMD car for 3 years or so, so I don't remember if you can set individual game launch settings...if you can, futz with some of that stuff and see if you get better results. Also, I'm just curious, is your power supply big enough to handle the power drain that GPU requires to run peak?

It was quite the large update, and that's going to mean a bad release until the bugs/issues are addressed. ATM, I can't get through 1 day without some kind of game-breaking, or well known bug getting in the way to ruin the SP fun.

IMO, they should have released this update in smaller bits. Easier for them to keep up with the bug fixes. It takes them a considerable time to fix bugs even when the updates aren't this large lol.

Hey thanks for your answer,
dont think my power supply causes any problems. I had this in mind because of this card and got me a Dark Power Pro 12 1200W. Also I think Conan Exiles is bad optimized for AMD systems or maybe nvidia too, cause I get laggs in the Big town full of NPC's, but the system use is around 50-60% for my graphics card and also my CPU.
Of cours I can set game settings in the AMD software and tried some. At least I thought turning everything off would help not to interrupt the game somehow. Sadly it doesn't help.

Yeah, thats correct. I can not answer if I would have the same issue before 3.0, but I can say it get worse with 3.0.3 from october 6th.

If I were a betting man, I'd say the game will be in better shape around 3.2 or more.

I have not a had a crash/freeze in this in more than a year, but on the new patch 10/6/22 I did just freeze in game and had to force a re-boot.

If your card is overclocked try reducing that a bit (most cards are nowdays factory overclocked). Sometimes they're just pushed a bit too far and it might not present an issue for most software / games but will be stubborn about one. Just get the manufacturer overclocking software and bump it down a notch ~10-30 mhz see if that helps.

Hey Xevyr,
thanks for this tip. At the moment I started playing I had a undervolting running. I thought may this could cause this problem and get back to factory settings.
But yeah may this will do it for me. I reduced the clock to 99%, its about 25mhz and try if it is working now.

Yes, undervolting would have the equivalent effect in this context as overclocking. And I'm not talking about the thermic aspect ofc since less voltage will mean less heat :) I'm referring merely to the instability of the silicon chip. So if you lower the voltage, the maximum frequency you can achieve and still retain stability will decrease. That could very well be the cause and even slight tweaks might be enough to correct it.
