Cannot tame a thrall
Not knowing better I walked into some big building...fought a skeleton and then noticed I was cursed. So I need to watch a thrall dancing. So i built Lesser Wheel of Pain, bludgeon and rope, Found a camp with a dancing person and knocked her out. Then Attached the rope and dragged her to the Wheel of Pain. Made lots of gruel and started her taming. She walked around and around the wheel for a while and then she just disappeared. Her "Stygian Smelter I" icon and 400+ gruel is still in the wheel BUT the crafting queue is EMPTY.
I can restart the process , the fuel=gruel is going down but after about 90 min nothing.
The icon image (pliers) is still not filled in with white like the example shows. I emptied, restarted but nothing changes. Help!!

A smelter isn't a dancer. You need a performer.

To use a thrall, once it is tamed (the person disappears and the wheel stops spinning) you need to remove it from the wheel. Crafter thralls must be placed at a workstation. The station will have a box up top to place the thrall. Combat thralls (fighters, archers, performers, and bearers) must instead be placed in your hotbar. Use them, which allows you to place them into the world.

If you can move them from the wheel to your inventory then congratulations they are tamed. But if there name is “Stygian smelter” then unfortunately that is not a dancing thrall instead it is a worker thrall that you place in your smelter.

They can also be placed in an artisan table to increase the crafting speed there. Tanners as well, with an added benefit from a named tanner.

Place in your smelter, if she’s hot; you won’t even need coal.

Thanks all !!!
This Stygian Smelter was dancing by the bonfire at the Black Hand camp just before I knocked her out. Does this mean not all people dancing are dancers? Than, how do I find a dancer?

You go around to various camps and look for on. Instead of Smelter, it will say Performer. There are 2 guaranteed dancer spawns inside the cave at Sinner's Refuge (map grid G4). This is a very decent location, as there are a number of potential thralls, an almost guaranteed location for named (tier 4) thralls, and a good location to get brimstone (which is needed to make steel, among other things.) And as they are Exiles, the people aren't too tough. Though they will come at you in groups.
