I aware of that if i need deplet whole berrybush or gather resources with certain tools.
Also i read that some bugs may be caused by mods, but still... only for those mods that changes something about certain things, good thing that i dont have mods that changes something but adds certain weapons or armors.
That strange and funny that devs didnt make sure this system works before releasing update
especially when you need use re-roll to find something that can be complete... but still rolls some bugged ones

I’ve had many corpses skinned and butchered that don’t count even to the point of breaking the tool without validation.
I’ve done many things to many challenges that didn’t get recognised without some Prolapsed period of time. Even to the point where I just feigned my commitment and used a challenge reroll. You just made assumption on my assumptions of their game time and commitment to running a battle pass which is new and bugged.
I’m almost level 20 to it, but why should it be cared?
Instead of vilifying a simple phrase of passive encouragement without knowing the context or the time behind it, maybe just ignore it shrug and move on with your life?
Causality is fun isn’t it.

He didnt meant to be rude or ignorant about this to you.
What he meant was to do it again, cus sometimes those challanges does not count properly
In my experience and example was it with hyena killing, i needed to kill 10 of them, but when killed 10 hyenas i was missing 2 hyenas in challange.
Even so i killed 10 hyenas tho.
hope this explains what he meant to say.
In short there some challenges that works, some half works and some that doesnt even work
Some will say "but you cant craft by hand do it in crafting station"
But dont worry, i done this in alchemy station and still not work (well any kind of healing recipes)

So it might not be the challenge that isn't working, but the cleaver itself causing it to not register.
I have had it stop counting kills after it counted 7, 8 or 9 of them a couple times. Logging to Main Menu and loading into the game again tends to fix it. As for everything else...
If you are using mods they need to be updated. 3.0 added a bunch of tags to some items/npcs. So the raw meat you harvest from butchering like human/feral/savory flesh and the like now have a tag like "item.meat.raw" attached to them. The tags trigger advancing the challenge. This goes for npcs, raw hides, berries, healing potions/bandages and special items like fragments of power and heart of a hero among other things. If you're using an old or even "updated for 3.0" mod that has an override for the item the challenge is asking for, the mod is erasing the new tags with its old entry.
I had several challenges that wouldn't complete... skinning, butchering, berries, healing due to my own personal stacking/weight mod that i hadn't updated yet. After I updated and carried over the tags, the challenges work just fine now.
A couple workshop mods i use have been "updated for 3.0" but tags weren't carried over so challenges weren't completing. I added default overrides to my mod for those certain things like Heart of the Hero and complete Frost Temple dungeon till they fix their mod, and low and behold the challenges work again.
As for kills not counting, the only thing i've noticed besides the game occasionally bugging out as mentioned above (Which I have had happen like 3 times and and have completed the Battlepass levels)... if you have thralls that are not actively following you and they kill the npc, it wont count it or if another enemy npc kills it and you dont do enough damage it wont count it. But thralls that ARE following you will count the kills.
Most mods don't list EVERY last change they've made. If a challenge bugs out... load the game without your mods, if it then completes it was a mod.
