Why not just make the map room smaller or just link it to obis? I get the PVP appeal but in PVE it's sort of bad as pippi exists and it is far easier to just set a TP point and type it into chat without the annoying debuff.

Some people feel that using a console command is cheating, and would rather do something legitimately. Plus, the stones work for everyone on all servers. You don't always have access to console commands, admin mode, and mods.

And there are no obelisks or map rooms on Siptah. If your base is near an ob and you have a map room on the old lands, the stones are of much less use.

I am yet to see a private server that isn't purist vanilla that isn't running pippi with teleport chat commands like /home, /south, /north etc. Most also allow players to set 3-5 custom teleporter points without resource costs short of maybe a pippi coin or 2.

Siptah is so small and open though and you can ride from east to west on all of Siptah in under 5 minutes, farm what you want, yank your bracelet and summon your body why take a 10-20 minute debuff when you can ride there, farm what you need, yank your bracelet and spend 1 blood to retrieve your body in the time you would be standing around waiting for your debuff to end.
If they removed the debuff it may be useful. Personally the only spell/item even worth using from the entire patch is mass cull everything else is useless in PVE.

Not everyone plays on private servers. Funcom is making their game for their servers. Yeah, they are letting people have private servers but you can literally do anything you want on a private server. You can't do any of that on official servers, which is what the developers are making stuff for.

Not everyone plays on private servers. Funcom is making their game for their servers. Yeah, they are letting people have private servers but you can literally do anything you want on a private server.

If they cared at all about their official servers there would be active admins, they would drop official clan size on 40 man servers to 4 and ban alliance cheaters, they would block cap the servers to around 1000 blocks total per clan, nerf both god bubbles and drawbridges, only allow 3 pets and 10 thralls placeable per clan, wipe all explosive jars period from all official servers to counter act dupes. There is a reason that the MAJORITY of all players play on unofficials is their official servers are trash.

This sound like someone who hasn't played Siptah (certainly not since release), has modded their horse to run faster, and is prone to vast exaggeration to make a point. Siptah is very close to the size of the original map. There are lots of paths between a reasonably central base (in or near the maelstrom) and places that you will want to visit repeatedly such as the Pools of the Grey Ones or functioning leyshrines that are a 10-15 minute ride.

The one pair of transportory stones I have up gives 1/4 corruption. There is a dancer at either end so the debuff goes away quickly. Much quicker than it would take to knock out a blood donor, drag her back to be sacrificed, go through the draining rite, and putting her blood in and orb. In place of a 12-15 minute ride (depending on path) it saves at least 10 minutes on a outbound trip and more on the return to base as I'm cleansed long before I have stuff put away.

I play on a private server without pipi teleport commands. and im ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ happy for it. not everyone wants to use a mod for every damned thing.

ive unlocked two obelisks, thinking it was a singular thing; like i could only use one at a time; have now unlocked the map room.

whats the best way to build the map room into an actual room?

I usually build a round foundation, center the map room on it then construct my base around it so it's in "the basement" so to speak.

What I personally plan to do with them is build little Transportory bases near obelisks, then use map-rooms to get to them. That way, if someone breaks in, they don't gain easy access to your base. I'll link the other end to major resources.
