Farming? Why?

can someone explain to me how to farm black lotus or make potent fertilizer cause of the few sources i have all of them are wrong and everything I've tried hasn't worked. also is there any chance well ever get a conan update that doesn't ruin mechanics that work fine and aren't op for no reason?

You can gather black lotus in the Black Garden in the Forgotten City of Xel-Ha in the exiled lands. On Siptah it grows outside the Sanctuary of the Serpent in the Ruins of X'Chotl.

To make potent compost, place compost, raw ash and blood or dung in your compost heap.

Wouldn't touch your 2nd question with a vaulting pole.

There are several ways to make potent compost, but all of them require ash, which is mainly collected from obsidian nodes in the volcano.

i know where to get the flowers and have them but ive seen people turn them into seeds on non modded servers but everything ive tried doesnt work

didnt see that potent fertilizer could be crafted with blood but it works

To get seeds you put lotus flowers to the drying rack with some bark. You get one seed per three flowers.

Is there any advantage of planters or improved planters over the crude ones? Wiki shows the same output at a glance....hmm..

You need improved planters in order to plant lotus for example, also lotus needs potent fertilizer to make them grow.
Crude and wood planters are working fine for other plants, needing no potent compost.

No you don't. You can grow everything in the basic planter. Improved planters do nothing. The only that that changes is whether or not you need normal or potent compost. Planters are all the same in function, though I think the better ones have more hitpoints and possibly a larger inventory size. But as far as growing things in concerned, all planters are the same.

i know in game if you hover over it in knowledge it says the better planters make stuff grow faster but ive been only using crude ones

The descriptions are wrong. Mechanically, they all function the same way.

As above said, you can plant anything in the basic planter.
