Do I need to restart after changing server settings?

Renting server - changing settings on server, do I need to restart for it to change?
Google told me nothing.

You should be able to change the settings without starting over depending on the settings.
Crafting times, harvest yield, etc should be fine.
Purge/maelstrom stuff you might need to restart for it to start depending on how much building you've done.

generally yes.

most settings will just revert after you're done changing them. it would be best to modify the server config directly, save that, then restart.

sometimes you can get away with live changes, but its a bit unreliable from what i've seen. would be good practice anyways to clear off anything that might be lugging the server.
