Depends where you are on the map, and if you have their buggy temperature system active or not as well.

You can frostbite to death in heavy armor your black ice house in the desert standing next to a hearth, 4 running forges with 20 hanging braziers all in the same room.

Switch to fur armor - instant heatstroke and death within 20-30 seconds.

Im in the North ( snow biom ) + only wearing Fur Armor

Either one is probably fine then. Black ice will be easier to see against the snow and rocks.

I always used heavy armor unless I was building up there, so I just make Insulated wood walls, pillars, ceilings with black ice foundations and roofing.

ok cheers
Black ice and Reinforced Stone are exactly the same in Hit Points - both tier 3
just as Insolated Wood and StoneBrick are the same Hit Points - both tier 2

The diffrence is Black Ice t3 and Insolated Wood t2 were introduced with the Frozen North biome.
and are intended to be used in the north because they counteract the cold.

Reinforced Stone t3 and StoneBrick t2 are intended for the desert area, and will help mitigate the heat.

You are free to build whatever you wish, whereever you wish, but if you build with the wrong matrials in the wrong area, you will most likely have a bad time.

good luck

Honestly it shouldn't say "wooden," but rather polymer or copolymer -- such modern building! Plastics are apparently our present, future and distant past. :DNA:

@Barnes i totally agree :D
In theory stonebrick and reiforced stone brick are for hot areas and insulated wood and black ice for cold ones
