Single : easy game, you concentrate on building and exploration. You can adjust everything to your preferences, add Mods to change many features, you can use admin mode to cheat, etc...
Even in a solo game i try not to make it too easy.
I use Mods to improve or modify Thralls and use 3 at a time, admin mode to teleport to visit far away places...or return in a minute to my dead body, spawn hundreds of building assets, equip my guys with the weapon and armor i want...
Online : the real survival game.i deserve everything. i suddenly have hard times and have to react. If i die while it's 3AM i must go back to my body 20mns away or choose to lose everything. I have to fight to get epic recipies or gear, Thralls or pets.
ATM i play on a public server, but i have never grouped with other players (i rarely meet anyone), just because i want to get thrills.
So, the pleasure is to get Greater pets, accumulate rare ressources, capture good Workers...and enjoy the pleasure of discovery.
Because the two games are different.
Would have been better if i spelled it out since not everyone knows about the mod though it is popular. I changed it.
Would have been better for single player and co-op if there was a version that had only the creatures and POIs.
And if you want to make it even more interesting, Indrids custom Race and Classes. Obviously you should not exploit it. Config it in a way which the progression makes sense.
TONS of fun in Singleplayer.
Truth be told, some of the AoC quests i hope it wasnt there. BUT, still a solid mod combination.
But AoC is not lore-friendly and it's kinda irritating IF you want to explore the base lore, in case you dont care, it wont be a problem at all. Anyway AoC adds: plenty of buildings, factions which you can roleplay the one you like the most, harders bosses, harder enemies, tons of quests (some are nice, some are boring), new armors, weapons, decorations, mechanics (magics etc).
EEWA + Beyond Stations + Indrids would be more for lore-friendly and really fun experience singleplayer or co/op .
At least thats my opinion, someone which tried PvE/RP servers and really didnt like it at all.
Plus playing in singleplayer you can config the purges the way you want, etc. Its quite good :) .
I for example like to set them quite often. Like 5000 Points in 10 min ticks. Because one of the features i like the most in conan exiles is that you actually build a base to properly defend it. Love it.
I also play in a way similar to RP servers i played. I set some limitations by time. For example, I will only use Iron and iron-related resources for 3 purges, then the 'age' will advance, and i will use steel related items and resources, etc. First Age is only Tier 1 Thralls and Tier 1 Pets (Shaleback, Crocodile, etc). And first age i can only tame one pet and one thrall (warrior or archer), second age will be three total, could be 2 pets and one human, etc. That makes me care more about my own character instead of depending on overpower thralls or an army of pets.
Also, since i want to explore more of the map, i change bases. The first age is more like newbie river, the second one could be forest or near savannah, things like that. Makes sense since you are going to have harder purges.
That makes you enjoy more of the base game instead of those players (nothing against it) rushing the best thralls and whatever early on.
I probably wrote too much, hope that helped anyone willing to try something different.
Have fun!
